High King Peter

Published by suzette under All, Ian

2 years ago, we got this for Ian from McD:

peter

This year (or last year??), the scond episode, Prince Caspian was screened, and the interest in the books were revived. I read to Ian a few times during bed times, so he was reminded of the main characters’ names.

When I was eating breakfast in one fine morning, Ian played with the toy and then… I heard this:

“High King Peter”
“High Queen Susan”
“Short King Edmund”
“Short Queen Lucy”

Hahahahahaha! My food almost fell off my mouth! :D

Have difficulties teaching your kids to CIRCLE?

Published by suzette under All, Ian

Ouch! My camera is taken away from me for 3 weeks! Well, since April, after coming back from Lijiang, my camera has been having this black spot on the lens. Every picture taken has this black dot. Ya, I know, it happened in April, and I did not do anything until now. The warranty expires just next week, and now only sent in for servicing and repair. Hahahaha! So, for the next 3 weeks, there is no new pictures in this blog.

But then… since I didn’t really blog in the last 2 weeks, I have a lot of back dated posts with lots of pictures. Maybe can last me 3 weeks. Kekekeke!

Here is something to share about Ian. Recently I met up his teacher on parents-teacher days. He got #2 place in class, which is out of my expectation, because he is just so playful, and I never bother with his education. You can call me lousy mother, but I still stand firm that he is only 4 years old and he should be enjoying his childhood instead of burried in exercise books and study, study, study only.

Anyway, back to the teacher. She told me, Ian did very well, but… during exam, he is the slowest to complete (why am I not surprised?!). When the teacher checked his work, found out that he wasted his time, DRAWING on the exam paper. Well, how did he draw? Just look at the aeroplane, wing and tortoise below!

Circle 2

He is supposed to CIRCLE! And this one - kite, helicopter, pear, jelly, and penguin:

Circle 1

And even for Chinese words, he can also DRAW:

Circle 3

So, if you have difficulties teaching your kids to circle, look at mine! Hahahaha!

Innocence

Published by suzette under All, Ian, Isabel

Talking about innocence…

One day after Isabel cried, I looked at her face’s tear stain, and teased her,
“Aiyoh, look at you, the tear dries up here, and you have wrinkle here already! See, I told you not to cry. Now you cried, you look old already loh!”

Immediately she responded, “(old) Like you ah?”

Ouch! I told her crying makes her look old, and she related ‘old’ to me!! Smart, but too smart! Sob, sob, sob! :p

On the other hand, Ian never want to relate me to ‘old’, not that he thinks I am young, but he is scared of losing me. Somehow he relates ‘old’ with ‘death’. Hmm… not sure where he got the concept!

Have you ever seen tortoise with Ultraman mask?

Published by suzette under All, Ian, Isabel, Parenting

One weekend, DH suddenly had the mood to make something fun for the kids. He took out a cardboard and transformed it into 2 masks: Ultraman for Ian and Doraemon for Isabel.

Ian so funny, he put the Ultraman mask onto his best friend Babun’s face:

Ultraman mask on tortoise

And after seeing Ian did that, Isabel also followed and put her Doraemon mask onto her Julia’s face:

Hahahaha! My kids really had a great fun with their homemade masks. BTW, did you notice that Ian carefully placed the eye-holes on Babun’s face, so that his ‘best friend’ could ’see’ also? :D

Not all stores care about environmental

Published by suzette under All, Food/ Shopping, Ian, Isabel

I went to Jakarta last week to run 3 workshops. I arrived earlier on Wed and then followed my colleague to Bandung to do ‘market visit’ (that is to check out local stores and talk to our outlets’ owners etc, like a mini in-depth-interview cum observation study without any research objectives, LOL!).

Well, actually our main agenda is the factory outlets there. I have long heard about the factory outlets and this is only the first time I was brought there to shop. In preparation for that, but not to be seen too eagle (ahem!), I brought just 1 medium ROOTOTE shopping bag that I bought from TinyTapir.

The first shop was glad with my request not to use their plastic bag. However, the second shop rejected it. They said I MUST use their plastic bag. There goes, 2 plastic bags wasted, straight away thrown away the moment I reached my hotel room!

They just don’t understand the concept!

Anyway, my colleague said my bag very nice looking & fashionable ler - at first she thought the first shop gave me that bag and she was so excited wanted to go back to buy from that outlet. LOL!

This is the print of my medium ROO (but pic took from a small size ROO). Rootote is a Japanese brand and made in Japanese, so it is more expensive than Envirosax.

Talking about shopping in Bandung, the things there is not like China, where products are fake. Here, they are genuine branded goods, but being sold there cheaply due to various reasons: out of seasons, limited size, limited quantity, etc.

I bought a sweater for Isabel since she needed one just the next day after I return (we went to Genting Highland!). It costs around RM30, but very VERY nice. I am happy!

And when Isabel saw her sweater, she was so, so, so happy. She walked to me and said, “Mama, this is for me? THANK YOU MAMA!”

Then, I found a set of Disney shirt & jeans, and another set of 3-pcs dress, only RM15 per set! It was on sales, and each has only 1 pc (no wonder on sales). Bought those for Isabel too.

3-pc

I couldn’t find things for Ian though, coz the boys’ are only T-shirts, which I don’t get excited at all (like what happened in Manila and Bangkok previously). To avoid conflicts, I bought him a set of 3 briefs - with Transformer prints. Wow! He was so excited! We have a habit of washing the clothes before using. He kept on checking the briefs and asked if they are dry enough for him to wear immediately. So cute! :D

The most happy moment after returning is to see our kids happy face. Isabel is not used to me buying things for her from overseas trips yet, but I think Ian is a bit immuned to it. :p

p/s: The cutest part about Isabel, is her disbelieve look! :D
