No Added Sugars For Your Children, No Compromises

Ha! I just saw this in the Star newspapers the other day. In fact, there have been a few similar ones in the Chinese newspapers too.

Think I have been doing just like ‘her friend’, been telling all my friends about added sugars in growing up milks!! I wonder how difficult it is for those milk companies to follow the steps of Anmum Essential. So far, I’ve only seen this brand being without added sugars, and it has been for quite a while already!

I have been talking about this with some friends, and we thought (and suspected) the main reason why those other brands added so much of sugars is to gain maximum profit. Look, when so much of sugars being added, what would be compromised? It is the “real/actual” milk itself! Therefore, with so much of added sugars, it would be still sweet (and tasty, for the kids) even with less milk contain. Tsk, tsk, tsk!

I really don’t want to give my children these empty carbohydrates. I would rather give them real milk that comes with good protein and other benefits (DHA and Gangliosides, in the case of Anmum Essential).

The last time I purchased a pack for Isabel, there was this win iPad2 contest… :( I forgot about it altogether, still thinking there is a lot of time to participate, and… I just found out from their Facebook page, IT IS OVER NOW. Grrr… Always procrastinating until I miss all the chances!

BTW, do you know that there is a chat group here under “Mum Knows Best” on the left sidebar? It seems like a good place for moms to discuss parenting stuff, perhaps with time it will grow (already close to 50k likes when I took this screenshot!)

One of the testimony I’ve read, was from a mother named “June Hiew”. She said that she was attracted to try the brand by the tagline “Tanpa Gula Tambahan”. And subsequently she said that her girl liked the taste so much, etc. Actually, I can relate very well with her. You see, most of us prefer no added sugars, but at the same time we are also worried about the acceptance of our children due to our doubt on the taste. But this worry is not necessary! ;)

There are many other testimonies from mothers (including celebrity moms like Nurul Huda etc), do check it out!

I also have the intention to change my boy’s formula milk to Anmum Essential and have let him tried the sample sachet two days ago. Surprisingly, he likes it. (He’s quite a picky eater).
