I Have Switched To Anmum Essential
Ian is turning 8 this year and Isabel 6. For nearly that many years, I have not been bothered much about growing up milk. I breastfed each of them till 18 and 20 months respectively. After that I have not bothered much about brands of growing up milk.
I am not shy to admit that I used to buy the cheapest growing up milk in the market, as long as they are from MNC. I never really believed much in what they offer, which many of my readers are aware of. Most of them, apart of the differences in the additives, are without any real differences. Hence, I had never recommend any brands in the past.
But things have changed! After being informed about the high added sugars in growing up milk, my attitude has changed completely. I just can’t tolerate such level of added sugars in my children’s diet. I’ve come to the conclusion that Anmum Essential is the only growing up milk that is without any added sugars (yes, I did check the labels for all brands that I could find and compare them!).
I actually can’t believe one day I actually promoted this brand to BIL, explained to him the unique property about this brand. Hahahaha! 转死性!
Well, it is not just me lah. Many who have found out about Anmum Essential’s no added sugars content, and its added nutrients like Gangliosides and DHA, have indeed switched to using it.
When I first decided to buy a pack to try, I wanted to get a chocolate flavor, but couldn’t find any. Later, I realized that perhaps chocolate flavor has added-sugars (not very sure about this though), so have finally settled with natural/honey flavor.

At first Isabel refused to drink, because it is not chocolate… but after tasting it, she didn’t have any issue with it! Whew! Ya, I would faint if she rejects coz it is more expensive than my previous brands (ahem, I used to buy whatever cheapest in the market, hehehe). Although it is more expensive, it does not come with any added sugars, I am willing to pay more for it!!
Even the milk is without any added sugars and is less sweet than previous brands (they are awfully too sweet anyway) Isabel still enjoys it. I have already bought the 5th or 6th packs, can’t keep track now. I honestly couldn’t believe this stingy mommy me, have spent so much in growing up milk, hahaha! :p
You see, after spending so much effort in breastfeeding my two precious for so long, I really don’t want those sugar-liquid other brands to tarnish my effort (I’m now calling those brands of milk sugar-liquid)!
Hey, for those of you who have read about this topic for a while, have you taken any actions? Have you at least check out the labels, or check out the brands? Just curious… This is the first time I am convinced and switched brand as a results of blogging about the topic!!!

Been thinking about this too. How about fresh milk?
EMYYL: I also give fresh milk, is like another drink lah. Tastier (for me), but the disadvantage is the component – for the grown-ups. Growing up milk has different composition. Also, pasteurized milk has higher risk of stomach issues (bateria more). I was once reprimanded by Ian’s pediatrician when I told him I gave fresh milk. LOL! He said too young wor, but now ok lah he is 8 yo. Only for Isabel I’m still sticking to growing up formula. Another point for me to still use this is –> Isabel brings to the school for afternoon tea time, fresh milk is not easy to bring, needs refrigeration.
