Yay! My camera case is here!!

Published by suzette at 7:23 pm under All,Food/ Shopping,Miscellaneous

2 months ago, my ex-colleague showed me his LX-3, but in a very nice casing. It is leather (maybe not genuine), and it doesn’t have to be completely removed. After opened still attached to the camera. Very nice looking and convenient. Can still see the LCD screen when the casing still attached to the camera.

The next day, I quickly bought from this seller on ebay. The bid was successful, but 2 days later the seller contacted me, telling me that he has no stock, and that the supplier stopped supply already.

I was so so so disappointed.

Few weeks later, I tried to search in shops. The original Panasonic similar casing, costs 3xx, closed to 400! The unbranded one, that my friend bought, was only USD29.

I kept trying to search, gave up, and searched again…

Finally, last month, I found it again! Sold by the same seller on ebay. So I quickly bid again. Successful and waited… for nearly 3 weeks… then it finally arrived!

So so so excited. This is how it looks like. Sorry I can’t take a photo of my Lumix LX-3 inside the case, because I don’t have another camera!

The casing is screwed onto the camera at the base. When opened, you can still have the base intact, but having the lens exposed, as well as the LCD screen:

I have used it for a while, really love it. The only complain would be, if I need to access my memory card or battery, I have to unscrew and remove camera completely. Luckily not too frequently you do this!!

wsl: No you can’t find it in any pana shop. You need to book/pre-order to get this case you know? Coz too expensive, most retailers won’t carry the stock.

jazzmint: yes, it is nice, but i bet the original one would be even better! Just not so ‘taii’ coz price difference too huge.

chengsun: Ah! I think the price increased or what… It is “New Snapshot Camera Case Panasonic Lumix LX3 D-LUX4″ that you have seen, right? Better than the original, which costs RM3xx, close to 400.

Chengsun: Just checked again, ya, it is true I spent USD34.99. I got it mixed up with another stuff I bought from eBay. So no price increase. But still worthy, compared to RM400!! :)

Hey Suzette, thanks for the clarification! I haven’t ordered, coz I got 1 more worry. I have actually ordered a Lens filter converter for LX3, so that I can put a filter in front of the lens, to protect it from dust, being scratch. I am worried that with the converter on, LX3 cannot fit into the case……

But still, thank you very much!

chengsun: sounds interesting. What kind of converter is it? Where did you get it and how much? I am thinking to get one as well, coz my previous coolpix lens was damaged due to dust, when I used it in Yunnan last year. I hate to have the same damage on my LX3!! :)
