Gifts from Europe

Published by suzette at 11:59 pm under All,Food/ Shopping,Miscellaneous

DH just recently went to Europe for a ‘business holiday’. Hard to explain here, just think of it this way – he has to take a client there for holiday, okay?

He came back on Tuesday. I reached home quite late that night, and saw this on the dining table:

Dior Pack

Being a non fashionable, non brand conscious, non sensitive woman… I completely ignored it. Chatted with kids (they got some new toys which DH bought from Europe), chatted with DH, without even suspecting or expecting that something was for me!!

DH then said, “Ya, you must have guessed that’s for you!”

I was like “Oh, okay, thank you”

Then, to give face, I just opened and peeped inside, and saw this:

Dior Pouch

You know, I am really really dumb, when it comes to brand. I saw this, and I was thinking, “Oh, a small bag. Hmm… when can I use it? Urr… not really that great looking wor.”

I think DH maybe got disappointed with my expression, but didn’t realize that I completely no clue of what Dior is. LOL! Well, actually I was also stressed at that point, because the new maid’s existing employer was to visit in just a few min time!!

Then, DH said, “I have something else for you. You will be very happy to see it…”

Then he took out this one:

Gucci pack

My mind was occupied with how to handle the unexpected request from the lady (maid’s existing employer), so was rather ignorant on the fact that he actually bought a GUCCI bag for me.

Okay, put it this way, I am not that brand conscious, and I have very little knowledge of brand. I have never owned any handbags above RM300. And the amount “RM300″ is the latest revision. It has always been ‘below RM150′ as my benchmark. The RM300 handbag was bought only recently from Bangkok, which is a genuine leather bag, not one of the ‘branded’ ones.

I didn’t immediately open the pack, just put aside, and wanted to get ready for the guest.

Then, DH rushed me to open it. Maybe he was disappointed with my reaction (sorry dear!). So I opened and found this evening bag:

Gucci

DH said I never have a proper evening bag, and this one looks versatile, and be used in all occasions. I just used it last night for our annual dinner.

Talking about that annual dinner… sigh! I got my aunt to help me make up (coz I seriously cannot do myself!). Half way, then I only knew that she has longsighted, just started recently. She couldn’t see me clearly, and at the end, the result was a little too much. I think I looked like an old witch in the party. A little like a scary old monster. Ya, looked old. With too much powder. But I was running late, no time to do anything. My very first annual party here, and I left something for people to talk about. LOL!

Oh, that Dior, I haven’t completed my story yet… I only realized, just before I went to bed, that it is not a bag that DH has bought me. Hahahaha! Ya, I guess all of you have guessed it. Ya, it is actually perfume! Addict 2:

Dior Addict 2

I am hopeless, I know, when it comes to brands and fashion. Hahahaha!

Branded or not branded, it’s the thought that counts. If he were to buy non-branded stuff, are we supposed to be angry or disappointed? Of course not! We shouldn’t be mata duitan, especially towards our own husband! He’s being so thoughtful and nice, your thoughts should be how to thank him properly :)

Silvery: True, very well said!! But hor, my point is not about whether he bought me a branded stuff or not. It was just that, I have no sense of brand. He expected me to be super excited about those brands, but like you said, branded or not, I am the same. I never expected a gift, whether he bought me anything or not, I would just accept it. I am probably just too cool on this stuff. Shh… don’t let him know, or else he won’t buy anything for me any more! LOL!
