I am drunk in my homemade enzyme!

Published by suzette under All,Food/ Shopping

Just tasted the enzyme that I harvested the other day. My white dragon fruit enzyme. I took probably around 30ml.

I actually harvested the red dragon fruit enzyme today. So I also tasted about 20ml of it.

The effect was horrible.

Well, taste first. It tastes exactly like wine. The red one is like red wine, the white one is like white wine. A bit of sweetness, a bit of bitterness. Smells really great, like wine.

The look is also like wine. I stored the red one in red wine bottle, so can easily fool people that it is red wine.

When I drank it, the moment it reached my stomach, I could feel the warmth of it. Then, in 5 mins, I felt my face getting hot. In a while, my head started to spin and I am now having headache!! Exactly how I get drunk.

I wonder what is the alcohol content in my enzyme!!

I am too drunk to take any photo now. Will update with photo tomorrow, or next year. Tomorrow might be partying. LOL! Yes, will serve my guests with my ‘homemade dragonfruit wine’. Kekekeke!

p/s: Ouch! The long-gone ‘alcohol rashes’ just reappeared all over my body. I really cannot drink??!! Hmm… next time must harvest earlier, before it gets so much of alcohol in the enzyme!

Backlog of my book posts

Published by suzette under All,Book

In the 5 months job break, I read quite a number of books. The number is not that impressive, but considered good for me. I didn’t manage to post them here earlier. Here one shot publish them all here.

Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer

The book is more of romance than any scary vampire story. I read the book before watching the movie, and got really disappointed with the movie – it didn’t do justice to the book! The book is a must read, but you can (or should) avoid the movie.

When Will There Be Good News?: A Novel

I was ‘conned’ by the review and the cover of the book. It was such a slow paced boring book. It started quite well, but just after 1 chapter, the rest all very slow. Very English. I think I prefer American better. :p

Are you afraid of the dark?

I really wanted to laugh half way. This is supposedly a thriller, but I think it is like a comic. The key characters are 2 young ladies who are just ordinary (apart from being stunning beautiful), know nothing about fighting or spy tasks. But somehow, they could win the conspiracy game by outwitting the ‘bad guy’.

It feels very Austin Power. The every ‘action’ in the story is just really, REALLY Austin Power feel. I dislike this book, honestly!!

Hmm… after writing up to this point, I think I didn’t really read that many books after all. Hahahaha!!!

What phone to get for myself?

Published by suzette under All,Miscellaneous

My Nokia phone has been with me for 3 years, used only 2 years (when I had my BlackBerry, I used it for a year). I still like it very much, but then… it has dropped so many times till the steel casing also detached already. Not sure if it is caused by the fall, it is also very unstable, can even restart by itself. Sob, sob, sob.

I have been trying to endure this, coz I really like the phone. But… now it also gives me excuse to get a new one.

At first, thought of getting Nokia again, the one that looks like BB. Then also contemplating a BB as well. Then, my latest consideration is the iPhone.

Arrgghh!!! Which should I get?! Should I really sign up for 4G? In the past I don’t have to pay, but I have to pay myself now… A bit struggle. It is a wish not a need, now.

Another issue to consider… why I dropped my Nokia so many times? Isabel is the culprit. She swept everything down from the kitchen table, throwing tantrum. I can’t guarantee she won’t do that again, with my new phone. So, should I consider something that is ‘unbreakable’ instead of nice and funky one? Maybe get a brick for myself better. LOL!

Cabbages & Condoms

I just realized that I still haven’t written anything about my Bangkok trip 3 months ago! My God! This is like 3 months outdated post. LOL!

There are so much to talk about that trip. It was so so so enjoyable. I tried so many fun food and restaurants. I went to Ayuthaya the ancient city of Thailand. I shopped till I dropped!

So many to write, but I would like to begin with this restaurant “Cabbages & Condoms”.

cabbages & condoms leaflets

The restaurant was originally founded to raise fund to create awareness of HIV. Its proceed will be used to drive awareness of safe sex, knowing what is famous in Thailand… ;)

The food here is fantastic. Authentic Thai food, very tasty, but very expensive. The mango salad is great. My friend is a vegetarian so I was vegetarian in my trip too!

It is outdoor, very nicely decorated, with lots of lighting and life music (Thai traditional music). A lot of guailou/angmo there.

The decorations are all made of condoms (I trust they are not used, LOL!). Check out the few decos below. They are all made of condoms:

And while waiting to be seated, or when you leave, they don’t give you mint. Instead, you are given a condom per pax!

This is definitely a place that you must visit in Bangkok.

I will write about other stuff separately. Very sleepy now… nearly 1am!

So lazy on garden work

Published by suzette under All,Miscellaneous

We bought this set of bench and table for our small little garden:

Garden bench

Then the grass below the set became damaged. We moved the furniture aside, trimmed and though we should top up with some soil, as per advised by the gardener who sold us the grass:

Damaged grass

So, DH bought a few packs of soil, put in the garden… and it has stayed like that for… perhaps 2 months already! LOL!

Sand

This is really an eye sore, but we just don’t have the time to do that. Maybe, maybe 1 day when we have our domestic helper… Hahahahaha! (actually nervous laugh) :p
