I watched 2012 last night
Well… since… I think end of last year, when they had this billboard of 2012 set up along LDP, I already wanted to watch this movie. Then, you know lah, I don’t follow entertainment news, I thought it has been showed and of the cinema already.
When I knew it is going to show this month, I already planned to spend my birthday in the cinema to watch this!
So, I bought the ticket on Monday, and watched it last night (ahem! a few hours earlier celebration). It was 6:15pm show.
Well, well, well… since many years ago, I started watching a movie on my birthday ALONE. First time I felt odd. But after tried it, I loved it. Movie is a personal thing. You go with a bunch of friend, you still watch alone. I feel that it is a waste of your sweet time with friends, spent in a cinema.
Back to the movie… After buying the ticket, I read some reviews, mostly negative. The critics complaint that the movie plagiarizing Independence Day (same director), and also plagiarizing itself (like repeated similar scenes), My colleague who have watched it, also said it is boring. She said after a while, she just wished the movie ends soon.
Maybe my expectation was set so low after reading/hearing the reviews… I actually enjoyed myself!
Don’t care whether it is logic or not lah, the movie was very gan-zeong. All near misses. Ya, ya, a lot of exaggerations, I know, and the hero has a lot of luck also. But as I said, put away the logic, you will sure enjoy the movie.
I only suffered 1 thing… hehehe, before going into the cinema, I forgot and drank a lot of water. The movie was long… it ended around 9pm. Imagine, 3 hours inside with a bladder full?! Towards the end of the movie, I did wish it ends faster. LOL! BTW, I did empty before the show started, of course!! ;P
I been wanting to watch too… My bro offer to “buy” me for 2012 movie, but I don’t have any one to bb sit that day.. sigh.. Guess it will be my hubby and me lor.. wish i could go soon..
Movie alone? i haven’t tried before.. maybe coz i enjoy sharing popcorn with hubby… although he always finish bigger portion than me!!

I had similar doubts as you, negative reviews and oppinions from friends, but I went anyway and you’re right. Setting the logic aside (it’s an entertainment after all) I really enjoyed it.
