Belated Post: My Birthday
Last Wed was my birthday, and I took a day off… planned for quite a few things to do, but ended up spent my whole day in the saloon!!
I don’t quite like the way I look in the new hair style. I went in and expected something similar to what I had previously, but I ended up with a different style. The hair stylist said “What’s wrong with that? You look very foxy!”
Ahem! I don’t really understand that term “Foxy”. But I do know almost everyone commented that I look nice in this, except myself. People that I don’t know in the office, came to tell me that my hairstyle is good. Hmm… maybe I have bad taste that I don’t appreciate this? LOL!
Anyway… DH took the first half off, and we had a good breakfast in Coffee Bean nearby. I planned to visit my sister but had to cancel it as my hair-do took me 6 hours to complete!! I read my “Change of Heart (Jodi Picoult) the whole of that 6 hours, and ended up with puffy eyes. LOL!
In the evening, DH came home with 4 small cartons… from Alexis! They are 4 slices of cakes: 2 slices of almond tiramisu (DH highly recommended), a slice of bitter sweet chocolate cake, and a slice of strawberry cheesecake.

I had my candle on the highly recommended tiramisu…

Aiyoh, these 4 cakes, added up, even more expensive than a whole cake! But they suit the different taste buds in the family. Ian dived into that cheesecake, Isabel practically had the whole choc cake on her own… buried her whole face in the carton! And we adults went for the tiramisu. LOL! Good idea for a family with distinct preference!
I have been planning to buy myself a GPS device, since I have to drive a lot in this new job (to meet different clients). There was once I took a taxi to a place in port klang, ended up stranded there, 1 hour post meeting still couldn’t get a cab back!! Been asking DH to help me enquire one, and…

Here it is! DH bought it for me as my birthday present!!

We tried using it the first time last Sun (before my BD, an advanced present). Not very satisfied with it. We tried to go to my sister’s house in Sri Kembangan. The routes it showed are not that practical, there are many other alternatives much better than what it showed. Luckily DH knew the general direction to get there. So I lost faith of it.
Then, on Thursday, the day after my birthday, I had to go to a new place on my own (client meeting). I just couldn’t find the place in my Garmin. My colleagues helped me to find also couldn’t… So, I went there based on my general gut feel. I arrived without any issues, but lost further faith on it.
Yesterday, I went to my sister’s house again, relying on it. Again, I had to make a few judgement calls to not follow its direction.
Sam (sister’s hubby) checked my device, and found out that there are too many maps in it, which could cause confusion. He helped me to fix (which I hope really fixed).
I can now find Merchant Square in it! LOL! Nevertheless, it is still a good tool to have. As long as I have the general direction to get near the place, it really can help me with the more refined routes etc. Once, I was stuck in heavy traffic, I switched it on, simply turned into a small route (after checking the map to ensure it is not a deadend), and it led me out of that traffic easily!! My new toy!! Looks like I have many new toys this year. LOL!

Suzette, the tiramisu from alexis is highly recommended. Back when I was preggy with first boy, late at night also I would request my hubby fetch me to Menara GE to tapau.. wearing my pyjamas some more.. LOL
I just got a GPS like yours. I find it quite useful if you are going to a place that totally no idea of the route. but if that area we aer familiar, i rather not use it, cause confusing. It’s good to have it when we have to go outstation especially.
My hubby likes it very much too cause something he need to find JPJ or petrol station or something, it helped.. LOL
At first when i bought it he some more complaint i waste money, now he is kinda in love with the gadget..
Lynette: Really? I didn’t know about it. Been to Alexis many times but never tried it. :p
I am also in love with my GPS now… LOL!
