I Cannot Tolerate Any More
Aku sudah tak boleh tahan!
You know what my 9 days old maid did? Okay, I think you cannot guess it.
This morning, at 2am, I woke up after some noise. I guessed it was her, but worried it could be break-in. So I carefully holding my alarm’s panic button, went down to check. Okay, it was a ‘relief’ to find her, preparing to start work.
I asked her why she wasn’t sleeping. She took out her alarm clock, telling me that it was already 5am. Apparently, her clock was a little faster, showing 2:25am. She couldn’t read the clock, thought it was 5:10am!!
And, there is a wall clock in the living room, she couldn’t read it? Also, apparently she still doesn’t know how to use her alarm clock. I have taught her twice. Okay, maybe we have language barrier. I have had 2 Cambodians taught her how to use. So, language shouldn’t be a barrier, but why she still don’t use the alarm clock?!
After that, I couldn’t get back to sleep. Took me a while before I could fall asleep!
When I woke up, I went to the yard and in shock, my front-loader washing machine door was opened with water flowing out.
I set it to run on washing cycle over night, and intended to drain and spin in the morning (mine is semi-auto). The machine has a safety protocol, it won’t allow the door to be opened if the cycle is not complete, i.e. with water still in.
She somehow forced it open. I really salute her strength, but it is not something I admire now!
The floor was full of water. I asked her to dry it. She took the mop to dry it, and then squeeze out the water at another corner in the same room. I really wanted to pengsan.
Then, I wanted to do it myself. I searched for the cloth I have assigned for floor. Couldn’t find. After much probing, she told me she THREW IT away on Sunday!
You know, at that point, I really wanted to cry.
This, is just only for ONE MORNING. And it is her 9th day. Some more, after getting training from 2 other Cambodian maids, over 3 days course, plus 2 Indon maids (part-time), over 4 hours (with a Cambodian maid there as translator).
I declare that I cannot tolerate her any more. She is strong. She always try to turn the water tap the wrong way by force. She turn the gas knob also the wrong way, by force. She broke my mosquito screen’s latch. She threw away my cloth. She broke the broom. She made my clothes unable to dry for 3 days. She can’t sweep the floor. She can’t even understand body language. She wakes me up midnight. She made the house dirty. She placed my son’s pant in my wardrobe which I took it by accident to the swimming pool, resulting no pants to wear after bath!
I am giving up. I am going to return her to the agent this Saturday. Non-negotiable. Thank you.

wah liao ehhhhh…apa ni!! must bring back agent and counsel liao. i thank god that mine when started was ok, though got a lot silly things too. now that she’s coming to 1 yr, moving towards positive side, the only problem is everything also forget
wah… amazing powers …im sorry to hear that. I would have also shot up the roof if i were you.
my ex-cambodian maid also cannot read the clock, cannot count 1-10, cannot read the calendar and worst than my 5 year old kid in term of IQ! yours is exactly like mine! good luck to you
Oh my… that’s really bad. Now I should be grateful to have my maid and hope she will stay for another 2 years.
perhaps can nego with the agency ? since they provided such lousy maids?
adui…poor u for the horrible experience with this expensive maid. must talk to the agency..perhaps COMPLAINT to the agency lah. they should have some ‘SIRIM’ control also ma…
It make me wonder, does she did everything on purpose? because she wants to go home?
jazzmint: when I heard from you about your Cambodian maid (when we first met), I thought it was just your luck. Now I know, they are generally the same!
mumzzy: Ya, I think I am coocoo now!
pauline: Wow, you too? What happened then? Did you keep her? How do you stand her har?
Elaine: Ya, you better treasure her!
aiyu/PeiWei: Complaint already. They now allow me to exchange with indon maid, slightly more expensive salary but I am willing. Also got to pay some levy for this maid. I hope is not that expensive as she originally quoted me.
Renn: I doubt so. She seems unintentionally did those though. I believe it is the age factor. Imagine if we were to ask our kids doing housework like a maid, they would end up spoiling a lot of stuff right? She is just so underage! I think the agency in Cambodia cheated all of us!
actually ar…I’m really ‘amused’ by your maid’s capability. Even u demo to her also she still cannot do it, really unbelievable lah, i also garu kepala.
Earlier when my (very underage
) gal was 18mth old, she can even mimic us doing some house chore, go grab the broom and start sweeping the floor too. hmm..what’s wrong with ur maid ya…
Wah seh! My MIL complain bout my cambodian maid.. She should have read bout ur maid so she could start to “appreciate” a little… at least dun complain to the neighbour every morning lar…
Suzette, Please RETURN HER IMMEDIATELY!!!!!
Good luck for ur next maid.. However, I think indo maid will be better. at least the country not as rural as cambodia..
My sister also returned her Cambodian maid. She was too emotional, very scary. Always cannot find her, she’d be hiding in different parts of the house and she likes to go and lie down in my teenage niece’s room and hug her pillows during the daytime.
