My new toy – Lumix LX3
My fairly new Nikon Coolpix has been failing on me for a year now, ever since I came back from my trip to Yunnan. Got the lens changed, then the camera’s focus alway failed, just past the warranty period.
I have been very tempted to get a new camera, but due to being jobless, how could I spend?!
Then, last week, just before going to Bangkok for my final holiday (before starting my new job), I gave in. With Siumai and Aiyu, we set off to a shop in Kajang to buy my new toy!!
Here is my new Lumix LX3:

So, so, so happy!! Well, of course the photo above was taken with my old Coolpix. Look at the Coolpix’s photo taken with my new Lumix LX3.

When I was in Bangkok last week, I used this camera on some night scenes – without any effort! I didn’t need a tripod, no need to be extremely still, and the photo turned out very nice.

It was taken on the roof of the Banyan Tree Hotel. It is a bar called Vertigo. It is shaped like a ship, so we were like drinking on a ship high up the sky. Very nice…
Will write more about my exciting Bangkok trip separately. Oh God! Another few days and I am going to start a different life. Very nervous.

So, you never used a tripod for the night picture? that’s awesome! =S I have had a lot of problems taking night pics with a Nikon D40 =/
Alejandro: Yup, I didn’t use a tripod, and I just used the normal shooting mode, not even using night scene. I know, I used to use my Nikon Coolpix, and had great difficulties, but of course your D40 should be a lot better than my Coolpix.
Well, if you can shot those kinds of pictures that means that it’s better than my D40 (at least in that area
)
Alejandro: Oh, the photo was taken with Panasonic Lumix LX3, not Coolpix (my old camera). Coolpix failed on me for a year already. And I think your D40 is still a better camera than my old Coolpix, and of course Lumix LX3 is more superior!
