First day at work – Thursday

Published by suzette under All,Miscellaneous

Tomorrow will be my first day, after taking my 5 months long break. New office, new environment, new colleagues, new roles, all waiting for me to adapt myself to.

Pray to God, please bless Suzette in her first day work tomorrow. Pray for mou-geng-mou-him.

New maid arrived today

Published by suzette under All,Miscellaneous

I just picked her up from the agency at 3pm. She is from Cambodia. Although trained in English (so said them), she doesn’t seem to understand everything I said.

She seems like only know these:
“What is your name?” “My name is … ” (I cannot pronounce her name!)
“How old are you?” “Twenty two.” (She looks like 14 years old!)

That’s it. I asked her to “come”, waved at her too, but she didn’t understand.

I asked her to “wash” a container, she filled up with water instead.

I asked her to shower, she pointed at something and gili-gulu, I didn’t understand.

So, the whole day since she arrived, she only ironed my clothes and did nothing else.

But I am so glad that the clothes are out of my way now. I can do everything else myself, but I really REALLY hate ironing!! If no help coming, I think I will send them to kedai dobi liao! LOL!

Anyway, I am really glad that she came. How I wish I could have another 1 month break, so I could train her first, before starting work. I only worried whether my mom or MIL can handle her. Communication is really a big problem.

Sigh! I have already woke up, waited 20 min, and she has way past her wake up time. My children going to wake up soon. I really don’t know if I should wake her up myself. My first time dealing with deep sleeper like this. Oh God, help me please… tomorrow start work, please bless me…

I am panic

Published by suzette under All,Miscellaneous

This Thursday will be the beginning of a new chapter for me — returning to the agency. Start my new job.

I have 3 more days of holiday, and I am panic –> don’t know what I should do, to fill them!!

I want to do just too many things.

Update my blogs. I have quite many recipes I wanted to update in Suzette Cooks. Many posts about my last Bangkok trips, and my shopping spree.

I want to read up my books. Finished 3 of the Twilight Saga, just starting the final book… I want to play my Mafia War on Facebook. I want to go to Saloon to do my hair. I want to watch a few good movies that I copied. I want to sleep, sleep, sleep (but hmm… this is the most time-wasting, yet most precious!). I want to go swimming, gym, cycling… or even DOING NOTHING!!

Ahhhh!!! Like my friend just said, life is like this. Time creeps up on us faster than we think. Should have enjoyed my break without thinking too much. Whined a lot when I was given the break. Now only started panic. Silly.

My new toy – Lumix LX3

Published by suzette under All,Miscellaneous

My fairly new Nikon Coolpix has been failing on me for a year now, ever since I came back from my trip to Yunnan. Got the lens changed, then the camera’s focus alway failed, just past the warranty period.

I have been very tempted to get a new camera, but due to being jobless, how could I spend?!

Then, last week, just before going to Bangkok for my final holiday (before starting my new job), I gave in. With Siumai and Aiyu, we set off to a shop in Kajang to buy my new toy!!

Here is my new Lumix LX3:

My Lumix

So, so, so happy!! Well, of course the photo above was taken with my old Coolpix. Look at the Coolpix’s photo taken with my new Lumix LX3.

When I was in Bangkok last week, I used this camera on some night scenes – without any effort! I didn’t need a tripod, no need to be extremely still, and the photo turned out very nice.

It was taken on the roof of the Banyan Tree Hotel. It is a bar called Vertigo. It is shaped like a ship, so we were like drinking on a ship high up the sky. Very nice…

Will write more about my exciting Bangkok trip separately. Oh God! Another few days and I am going to start a different life. Very nervous.
