I don’t have such good face memory lah!
Last week, Adrian sent me this link on BBC Science. It is a series of 3 tests, to see how good you are in recognizing faces that you have seen, and also when you have seen them.
In this test, you have 3 sittings. In test 1, you are given 12 photos. Then you need to pause for 5 min before starting the second test. In test 2, you are given another set of 12 photos. Then, take 5 min rest again. In test 3, you are given 48 photos, and you will answer whether you recognize them, and in test 1 or test 2.

I think it is too good for me. Maybe I was paying attention. Honestly, I have terribly bad memory of people’s face.
Let me share this with you… something really silly and foolish that I have done, which probably have ruined my relationship with my new neighbor. I really wish I could reverse time and mend this! :p
Okay, this new neighbor, whom I have met only once when she was renovating the house few months ago before she moved in.
Then, one day, after I sent my maid to my mom’s house (I wanted to go out kai-kai later), I returned home. In the garden, I saw a pale and tired looking lady in a grey torn shirt and knee length loose pants. She was friendly and smiled at me, asking me where is my maid.
I THOUGHT SHE WAS THE HELPER/CLEANER AND I ASKED IF SHE ‘WORKS IN THAT HOUSE’!!! I think my next question would probably “how much do you charge”.
She showed a stunned face and said, “I LIVE HERE”
At that point of time, I feel like digging a hole on the ground and bury myself alive. How could I do that! Arrrggghhh!!!
I honestly couldn’t recognize her. My impression of her is a different lady. I completely cannot associate this lady with the lady I met few months ago. I screwed up. Yes, I know, I just screwed up. I not even dare to look at her now… :p
there there…. i’ve been in that situation before…
Just let go of the memory, and start afresh. The next time you see her again, then ask how is she…start a new conversation…in no time, she would have forgotten that incident

You did really well on that test; how sad to not have recognized your neighbor… but it happens. Our brains are mysterious machines like that. You should try this other memory test, it tests what is called the “stroop effect” which might have been what happened to you and your neighbor. Doing little brain challenges like this help our memory, so keep it up
