My HP Mini 1109tu Just Broke Down!
It happened last night. When I was on Facebook, suddenly I heard loud noise. The harddisk, I believe. Then got very slow. Too slow to do anything.
So, I decided to shut it down. It took forever to shut down… then it gave me a warning message. Turned blue screen. Dumping physical memory. I am very scared of blue screen, coz… it is usually ‘fatal errors’.
After it ‘dumped its physical memory’, it restarted by itself. And I could shut it down. I was too tired, went to sleep.
This morning, I couldn’t start it AT ALL. It just asks me to select boot disk. Black screen, like the DOS screen.
Finally, sent in to HP service center. And, the lady said it takes 3 working days to repair. (maybe more)
So, I am now down to no computer again. Using my friend’s notebook now at her house. 
I have heard many bad review on HP’s reliability, and been using HP in the past 6 years in the office. All without pleasant experience. I have been very careful in handling it. Avoiding all stuff that can cause harddisk overheat. But, it is still happening to me.
Just 2 months only. Pretty new, and I got to send in for repair. No wonder they offer 3 years extended warranty for those who is willing to pay. See, I suspect they purposely make it so vulnerable, so everyone sign up and pay for the extended warranty! Grrr……

I feel bad for your lappy. I hope they can fix it soon. =)
Mine is a HP Compac Presario X1315, bought in July 2004. Still using now. Somewhere around last month I experience that same blue screen thing and then it says fatal error, but luckily I was able to start it again . And i notice this thing happen when I try to connect to a wifi in which the owner keyed in the password on my laptop. It happened several times during my effort to connect to the wifi. After that I don’t dare to try anymore.
Alice: my problem is different ler. It completely cannot be read. No boot disc. Just blank black page, when I tried to restart. Even after they changed my harddisk, I cannot retrieve those info inside!
