Mothering Mothers 2009
Mama22beas smsed me few weeks ago about MM2009, but I have forgot about this completely!!! I was so engrossed in my own job lost process, that I almost shut down all the other stuff. I have just given my name for the volunteer, and hopefully it is not too late!
What is this Mothering Mothers 2009 about? It is actually an activity first initiative by Lilian at MyMomsBest (breastfeeding supporting group) – and Lilian is also the blogger at 5xmom. In short, this is a yearly event (though I don’t remember there was one last year?) that mothers visit other mothers in UMMC, at the paediatric wards, giving out Mother’s Day’s gifts to them. Well, these mothers at the paediatric wards are usually having very sick children, and some are actually dying. They are grieving mothers. That’s why this project is called “Mothering Mothers”.
I am chipping in 2 gifts, and will bring along on the day. If you are interested to donate any gifts, do hop over to Mama22beas’s blog for detail. They have volunteers of gift drop off area, as well as cash donation (although less preferred).
Want to do something different and more meaningful on this special day…
