4 Books in 10 Days
Izzy was down in the past 10 days (I think it is up today, as promised, or else I wouldn’t be blogging!). Since then, I had nothing to do (lost my job, haven’t found one, no internet connection, children at school or napping). So, I did what I love most – reading.
After reading the last book fromm Tess Gerritsen, The Mephisto Club, I was like addicted to her. I continue reading more and finished 4 books in that 10 days:
- The Mephisto Club
- Life Support
- Bloodstream
- The Surgeon
All of her books keep my nerves tight. Very creepy, suspenseful, masterful!! I really love her! There is no way you can guess the answer, maybe because our medical knowledge is so limited. She was a doctor before she quite and started writing novels. She has a lot of seemingly real stuff to support her storyline. Also, after reading her novels, I usually learn something. Like in The Sinner I learnt more about leper; in Bone Garden I learnt some medical history, some interesting facts; in Harvest I was first exposed to thoraic surgeries etc. All very interesting, easy to digest (although I cannot comprehend or remember those medical terms!) Hahaha!
Okay, about the other 3 books I’ve just completed…
Life Support:
This one starts with a man found seriously confused and disoriented. He was sent to ER and then missing from his gurney – never be found again. Later, another man showed the same symptom and died in the same hospital. While the doctor (female doc again…) trying to investigate the cases to save her career, she uncovers some conspiracy that would cost her life…

Bloodstream:
A widowed female doctor and her only teenage boy moved to Tranquility to start a new life. After 8 months when autumn ends, strange things happened. Teenage violence getting out of hand, and a long hidden secret slowly to unfold…

The Surgeon:
He slips into their homes when these lone single women lie sleeping. He enjoys seeing them suffer, consciously, with every pain he inflicts to them. He is careful and no one could trace him…

Now, although Izzy is back, I’ve just picked up The Apprentice, and I think my next 2 days would be glued to it. LOL!

think you start a library already lah : )
Got any self motivation book you can recommend?
PepsiTwist: Err… I only read “non-nutritious” books. LOL! Anyway, got a good recommendation from a friend. Let me get the name right and let you know later…
BTW, are you the girl I know personally? Just saw your email address only realized the similarity!!
