Disasterous Days for Isabel
The last 2 days have been disasterous for Isabel. She is sort of fated to get those injuries…
I have been taking care of her since I lost my job. But last 2 days I have been out, attending job interviews, so my mom helped fetch her from the school.
On Tuesday, mom called me to inform about Isabel’s injury on her face.
A boy scratched her face with quite deep wound, about 1mm deep. What happened was, while Isabel was waiting for my mom to fetch her, a 2-yo boy accidentally scratched her face, and nobody saw how it happened. What they knew was that, the boy was panic and kept stroking her to calm her (ya, ya, Isabel can scream and cry very fiercefully).
I asked if the boy was having long nails, nope – his nails are short, but hard. Just like how it used to be for Isabel herself. Sigh!
Then, the next day (yesterday), she came home with bruise on her forehead. Apparently, it was also another accident during the school dismissal time. She was sitting properly, and some other boy walked passed her suddenly tripped. That boy fell towards her, hit her forehead with his own!
Unfortunately the teachers did not know first aid well. None of them apply cold compress on her forehead, so she is having blue-black (bruise) now.
Well, this is not the first time my children hit themselves, but this is the first time she is having a big bruise – all thanks to the ice packs at home. Remember parents/care takers, if your children hit themselves and you think it will cause a bruise, quickly wrap an ice pack in a cloth, press on the injured area. I guarantee you, your children will not get any blue black after that, unless you remove it too early.
oh poor girl.. must be extra careful next time, eventhough the above two incidents were not her fault.. take care..
Merryn: Ya loh, poor girl… since she learns walking, she always fall. But in these 2 incidents she was sitting quietly… pittiful.
