Job hunting result
The interview before Christmas didn’t go well. In 45 min interview I had 5 dropped lines – stupid Maxis. I didn’t do well too, and the questions were very tough.
On Thursday 8 Jan, I received an email, saying that the posting was cancelled, as the person holding the role currently has agreed to continue. So, one door closed.
On Friday 9 Jan, I spoke to another boss on another opportunity. After knowing more about it, I declined it. That guy is a very nice boss, and the guy I would be reporting to is also very nice. The job is just too challenging. It requires dealing with government and politicians. Geez, I hate this kind of stuff, and it wouldn’t help in my longer term career goal.
I like research, and I still want to be in research or marketing related roles. Well, I understand the job will shape me into an even tougher and better person, but if I really want to take that kind of stress, I might as well go back to agency and take a familiar stress.
Ya, ya, ya, I think I am in a complacent stage… don’t like too much change. A drastic change like this sounds scary ler… so I have declined.
Just feel bad to that boss. He is very nice, wants to help me.
Oh, my ex-boss called me on Wed, asking me whether going back to that comp is an option or not (he just knew about my situation from a friend)! I am so happy there are many options for me.

Yes, I’m sure things will turn out fine for u
good luck in job hunting – the chinese saying of ‘the sky won’t stop your way’ – mm..sorry I don’t read chinese so don’t know the exact phrasing
Anyway, good luck – I am sure opportunity will await you….
Yiwen: Ya, worst is only to go back to agency, I would still have a rice bowl, I believe. BTW, another headhunter just contacted me through LinkedIn, and want to push for another agency job. I was hoping for another client side ler…
PepsiTwist: Thank you!
