Thank you
To all who sent your regards and expressed your concerns on my mom’s health, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! She has undergone angioplasty and recovered very quickly, and she looks like a normal person now! Without knowing, you might not know that she has had 2 heart attack last week! LOL!
I am so thankful to God for sparing her life. The 2 heart attacks didn’t kill her, but enough to provide warnings for us to treat her before too late! We are glad that it is not the kind that strike once and take life. Really thank God for that.
I think the doctor that our family doc recommended is good. My mom didn’t feel any discomfort through out the whole angiogram and angioplasty processes. Unlike my mom, all others who have gone through the same, complaint that the process was painful or at least not comfortable.
Well, actually my mom’s case is due to very high level of cholesterol. 8.1 of total cholesterol! The specialist said this kind of level is caused by our gene. When asked, I was shocked to find out the whole family has high level of cholesterol. My grandpa died of heart attack after suffering stroke & paralized for a few year. All my aunties and uncles have cholesterol level of around 7.0. My 6 years younger counsin has over 7 as well and is already under medication.
The specialist advised that my sister and I do some screening as we post high risks too.
Geez! I loved all cholesterol rich foods, and I won’t be surprised I am already over the limit. :p I love nasi lemak, eggs, seafood – particularly mussles and squid! Got to watch out.
BTW, after the long silence last 2 weeks, I am now resume blogging. So, do come back often to check updates ya?! Now I’m off to reply all your comments (sorry for the delay!)

I’m so glad to hear that your mom is recovering well. Yes, you better go and have your cholesterol level checked then.
Good news indeed. You should do a thorough health check. There are some things that we just can’t run away from when it comes to genetics. Not trying to scare you but you should try to put both your kids on a healthy eating and lifestyle pattern from now cause your genetic legacy has predisposed them to face the same risks. Of course, you can always take the short cut method-medication. A few of my friends are already on them. Imagine, the younger generations are getting the old timers diseases at a younger age nowadays. A doctor friend commented that despite all the medical and lifestyle advancement we made, the coming generations are not likely to live as long as our ancestors-stress, bad eating habits, pollution etc.
glad to hear that things are getting better.
mighty hard to bump into your blog at blogexplosion, though, if i dont suft by category.

Best wishes to your kind mother. So i hope will be healthy very soon. Thanks
MG: Thanks! Will do that next week, need to fast I always forget. :p
EMYYL: Well, I was told in our case, most likely diet and lifestyle alone may not help. Most likely have to go on medication.
allthingspurple: Hey, thanks for the tags. I will try to respond to them, but you know my schedule lah… may be delayed till Sep when my load is lighter. In fact, updating this blog become a chore to me now that I really can’t get the time!
Adrian: Thanks a lot for the prayer and wishes.
Michael/ hank: Thanks for the wishes!
god bless…
Great news that your mum is in good condition now.
Try eating more healthy food and put aside all the nasi lemak, fried chicken.. It does more harm than good:)
Try change diet and exercise first lor, see how far it can help before resorting to medicine. Once you start on them, there’s no turning back. Who knows, with the diet and exercise you may need milder medications.Someone mentioned about baby bitter gourd drink. Not sure if you can stomach it but supposed to help.
cymbidium: Thanks! Ya, those nice food are actually harmless food. Somewhat, all harmless food tastes very good! :p
EMYYL: Ya, I know, once started medication will have to be lifetime – and the medication is extremely expensive! My last year’s reading is 5.0 (border is 5.2). Just did my test yesterday, hopefully is still within range!
