Ian’s First Homemade Card
In the school, Ian’s teacher always teach them to make cards for us. We received cards on Mothers’ Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, Valentine’s, Chines New Year, etc. The school teacher is very creative in using simple shapes that a 3 or 4 y.o. can manage to make great cards for us.
And then, last week I was told his teacher Susan is leaving. Today, 30 June, would be her last day in school.
DH thought of asking Ian to make a card during the weekend for her. But then, the two of us are not good at this. We know how to make complicated and nice cards, but not something so simple and manageable by a 4 y.o. Okay, DH is better than me in this, so he helped Ian out.
Dadadada! Here is the card Ian made. Front page:

And here is the inside page:

Do you notice something funny?
No? You can’t find it? Okay, have to highlight to you, I missed it when DH asked me to see the first time (wasn’t focusing – busy distracting Isabel!).

Look at the date (label 1). See it? He just did a mirror writing again on the number 3! When I pointed out to the teacher this morning, she laughed and told Ian to correct it on the spot (without any problem!). She told Ian, “How can you write like this, then others might think I teach you to write this way!” Ian also smiled shyly and quickly correct it.
Another funny stuff is the one with label 2. It wasn’t supposed to be a bee. Ian wanted to draw a chicken, and practiced on a paper below:

But then, when he drew on the card, somehow distorted. Luckily DH is good at fixing things like this. He taught Ian a few tricks and it became a bee, though flying upwards.
They are COMPLETELY different, aren’t they?
This was our biggest project yesterday. I forgot to ask Ian explain to the teacher what he drew outside of the card. He told me the house is the school, and the stickers are the kids.

haha that’s cute. I used to love doing art at school!! one of my teachers was really good with the art stuff too…
Cute! I like the chicken/bee, I was thinking it was at a very artistic angle
Haha. Mine is starting to correct his mirror image writing now but he still does it occassionally too.
That’s a very nice card
I don’t think I can ever done up something like that
hi Suzette, i see a lot of similarities between Ian and my little girl, Nicole. (She is turning 4 next month)…..

Michael: Thanks! You love arts too? I used to make my own card, but not after I got married. LOL!
tinytapir: Hahaha! Artistic? Thanks to my hubby, or else I really don’t know how to fix that.
MG: Ya, I read it from your blog as well, about his mirror writing. Really nothing to be worried about, isn’t it?
Yiwen: You serious ah? I’m sure you can do better than this. Hahaha!
Irene: Oh, really? So Nicole’s birthday is coming soon… Hope you able to use what I shared with you in the emails. Didn’t hear from you for a while, hope you are doing fine.
