Update on Ian/Isabel’s growth

Published by suzette under All,Ian,Isabel

Alright, after such a long time I didn’t update their measurement… here they are, a very quick and short one…

Ian
Age: 4 years 1 month 10 days
Height: 105cm
Weight: 17kg

Isabel
Age: 2 years 5 days
Height: 87cm
Weight: 11kg

Though Isabel is only 11kg (compared to Ian – already 11kg before reaching 1 year old), she is actually quite chubby, round faced. :)

Wisdoms in Kids’ Words

Published by suzette under All,Ian,Isabel

Sometimes listening to kids words can make you laugh, but sometimes there are pure wisdoms in what they say. I love listening to them talking.

Few nights ago, when I was sleeping with my kids, I grumbled about Isabel’s difficult sleeping style. I said, “Why Isabel keeps wanting to sleep on MY pillow? I move here and she follows…”

Ian answered without thinking, “Because she likes you very much!”

Wow! That answer was so powerful to me. Immediately I regreted for even having grumbled about my lovely daughter who just wanted to be very closed to me. How long would this last? I should treasure this moment when they are closest to me, instead of complaining about that! It was like a hammer on my head…

Come, meet your meat

I stumbled upon this interesting blog with an interesting post on Nissin cup noodle. The blogger’s way of product review is very interesting and attracted me to read on.

But then… what attracted my eyes most, is this meaty picture on his right sidebar, under his blogads. Never a blogad attracted my attention this way.

meat

Under this picture it says:

“See what you’re really eating for dinner. Watch this video that exposes the truth about humanity’s cruelest invention –> the factory farm.”

So, I went in and watched this video, revealing some shocking truth about what we eat every day.

I am too sick after watching this. Immediately I want to stop eating meat, but I know it is almost impossible without involving the whole family. MIL is easy, coz she doesn’t like to eat meat as well. But hard to implement this on children. Also hard to educate my mom as well.

My only question now is, do we need to be vegetarian completely to help? What about seafood? I know they are heavily polluted with heavy metals nowadays, but cut down meat/fish altogether is really hard to start for a meat lover like me! Maybe gradually…

What about you? Are you impacted by this horrible fact?

What is your carbon footprint?

Published by suzette under All,Miscellaneous

Do you know that to combat climate change, the worldwide average carbon footprint needs to be reduced to 2 tonnes? Do you know that the Malaysian average is already 7 tonnes, and the worldwide average is 4 tonnes? And what is your contribution to the world’s carbon footprint?

This is indeed the latest hot topic in the office. Last month when I was in Houston, we discussed this, and there is an online carbon footprint calculator which is very easy to use. I just had the time to do the test for myself, and here is the results:

Isabel’s Quiet Birthday

Published by suzette under All,Isabel

It was Isabel’s 2 years old birthday yesterday. This is her birthday cake, which she enjoyed eating so much…

Isabel Birthday Cake

Did you notice, the ‘H’ is smeared? Well, my kids are just too excited over the cake. They kept sweeping the creams and steal the chocolate to eat! The ‘H’ was Ian’s doing, and there was a long slash at the side of the cake, which was Isabel’s doing. They are both equally excited!

Anyway, Isabel’s birthday is as expectedly very quiet, almost gone unnoticed. I knew this would happen, but to me I tried not to have any difference between the two kids.
