Ian’s birthday coming soon

Published by suzette under All, Ian

Ian’s birthday is just around the corner. Monday 21 April is his 4th birthday. I don’t plan to hold any party for him, as usual, coz I don’t want to be pressured to have one in the future. LOL! I am that scared of organizing things like this!

I think I will just buy a cake, bring to the school to share. Anyway I will be on leave that day, so can stay with him.

I have bought a toy for him on eBay, but can only get it later when I visit Houston. So, it would be a belated birthday gift for him. I am so excited to get the toy. I bought a Transformer Bumblebee for him. Well, actually I can’t be sure I’m buying for him or for myself! I actually love the toys so much! LOL! I hope I won’t be fighting with him to play them. Maybe I should play them secretly before giving to him. :p

Differences of my 2 kids

Published by suzette under All, Ian, Isabel

Silvery asked me in one of my post, whether it is true girls are different from boys, that they generally love crying.

Actually there are a lot of differences between my 2 kids, but I wouldn’t attribute it to gender difference, coz I only have 1 boy and 1 girl, can’t generalize this! :)

Here are some differences in them…

Learning Ability/Strengths
Generally from my observation, they develop differently. Ian is very strong in speech and focused learning. For example, before he was two years old, he was able to recite from A to Z, and can read from 1 to 100. He plays jigsaw puzzles before 1 year old (which surprised a lot of friends). He sang lots of songs too, before 1 year old.

Silly things that maids do

Published by suzette under All, Mumbles

Sometimes the Indonesian maids can be helpful to you, but they can sometimes drive you nuts. Here are some examples of what my auntie’s maid did, really want to make you vomit blood. I just pray that my new maid is not that bad!

Ironing Without Electric
I think she must be wondering why these city people asking her to put that device on the clothes. It must be her first time seeing an iron! She just ‘ironed’ the clothes without plugging the electric socket into the outlet. After ‘ironing’ a solid 4 hours, she declared task completed, and my aunt saw the clothes were still creased. Then only realized her mistake.

No Brainer in Keys
This maid is very strong, physically but not mentally, I have to say. She used a key to open a lock. Apparently the key is not for that lock, but she kept on turning until the key broke - with the key stuck inside the lock. So, there is no way to unlock it any more!

Are you mommy/daddy/son/daughter/etc blogger?

Published by suzette under All, Blogging

When a blogger happened to be a mother, it is always a standard perception: “She is a mommy blogger”.

LOL! In my case, I am a mommy blogger, in this blog. But when it comes to my travel blog, I wouldn’t consider myself as mommy blogger, coz I don’t blog about parenting or about my children like in this blog.

Come to think of it, why they must name us ‘mommy blogger’? If there is really such thing as mommy blogger, then there should be daddy blogger, son blogger, daughter blogger, grandson blogger, granddaughter blogger, grandma blogger, etc - YOU NAME IT! :)

So, tell me, are you a mom/dad/son/daughter/etc blogger? :p

Panda Kiss

Published by suzette under All, Ian

This morning when I sent Ian to school, after giving him a fly-kiss, he suddenly asked for a PANDA KISS.

I was like “HUH?!!” What is a Panda Kiss?

Then, he demonstrated. Is actually a “muak” kiss gesture, similar to the fly-kiss, without using your hand.

So, I asked him who taught him that. He said, “I created myself.”
* roll-eye *

I thought somebody taught him at school, and wonder if this is something new/in that I don’t know. After Googled, what I found are only how the Panda Bears kiss! LOL! So, we all become panda?! :p

Also, last night in the car on the way home, I reminded him not to choose food to eat. He answered very nicely saying that “… we should mix different type of food.”

I thought somebody else must have lectured him on that. So I asked who taught him that. Again, his answer was “I created myself.”
* roll-eye again *
