No one visits your blog?
As mentioned in my other blog, I actually use the service of Blog Explosion since quite some time ago to help driving traffic.
After using it for a while and saw the effect, I really think that I must share in this blog. For records sake, Blog Explosion is my second source of traffic, after PPS. (Edited: It is now my top traffic source!)
Well, you have to understand how it works before you can comment that it ‘DOESN’T WORK‘ and stop using it. I see many users signed up but just sat and waited for traffic to come in - it doesn’t work that way.

How It Works?
You must visit others blogs in the program, then others will visit your blog. It is fair, isn’t it?
Is It Counted As Actual Traffic For Nuffnang etc?
They are real visitors, they actually see your contents, they can comment on your site and click the links. So, yes - they are counted as your traffic eventhough members surf through BlogExplosion’s portal. The indication where traffics are coming from them is, you can see them as ‘referrals’ in Nuffnang and Statcounter.
I’d say this is a good tool to get some traffics. But for long term sake, content and quality of blog is still very important.

thx for the information. i gonna try it up since u had done the experiment abt it.
mrcoolku: No problems. Good tool is meant for sharing. It is also a good source of blog reading. Sometimes I discovered very interesting posts, and sometimes good topic for my own blog. For example, this post was inspired by a blog I stumbled from BE!

wow..thanks for the info then..
the system is somehow like entrecard..just little bit differ..
well, i gonna test this out. and i want to see how much would it effect my blog traffic..
nway, thanks for the info again
Hmmm. Sounds fair enough.
Thanks for the tip, Suzette!
wow. thanks. i post a earlier blog on that, i have problem with actual count on nuffnang.
I will draw more readers with your aid.
thanks once again.
they are alot of this kind of service from different website..so many names,i cant remember all.
Hi there, thanks for sharing..:) very infomative
I heard there’s this http://www.blogrush.com/ too. Worked almost the same.
The only problem with blogexplosion is that you’ll have people who reads your blog just because they want to have others to read theirs. A lot of time that translate to traffic but not real readership. Most blogexplosion users would just load the page in a tab and do something else entirely.
izzat/pamsong/cassie/kuanru: no problem. Thanks for leaving a comment here. Hope it helps you drive some new traffics.
flux: You are right about many providers of similar service. I’ve signed up a few but many couldn’t sustain and gone offline after a while. I used to like Blogazoo, but after operating very well for a while, they’ve decided to close down. At least this BE is still running… If you know of any good ones, please share?
Simon Seow: Blogrush is different. It places a widget in your own blog. In that widget the members appear randomly and you visit their blogs via that widget. I joined when it was launched, but decided to take down because it affects my blog’s load time. I dislike any gadgets that slows down my page, as it affects reader’s experience.
KY: You are right, it really depends on what’s the purpose of using blogexplosion. You get traffic credits by ’surfing’ others blogs, but at the same time it is always good to read and discover good blogs there.
All: All in all, we know one of the way to get new visitors is to visit blogs and leave comments, hoping others would reciprocate. But it is always not the case unless you leave very witty comments (also not guarantee). So, instead of visiting random blogs trying to harvest traffic that is not guaranteed, BE gives you the returning visits. I still think it is a fair game that we are playing here. You visit others blog and in return others would visit yours.
this site was defunct the last time i tried to register for my other blog. the help team won’t even respond to any email enquiry. i heard the whole team has left and it’s just a website working by itself now.
hrmm just tried! think it’s working again!
thanks for the site. C: you’re nice.
kimberlycun: I have been using it for nearly 3 years now, and it has never been down before wor? Perhaps you heard that from Blogazoo? It works exactly the same, but shut down for quite a while already. Can’t remember exactly when, perhaps early last year.
Selfairy: No problem. Actually I get referrals points too. Not entirely selfless! LOL Well, to be truth, I like the outcome of using it, and seeing Blogazoo went down last year, I thought it is important to share this kind of things, so more users - and it will eventually more sustainable. Been seeing less blogs lately, when I surf it, and I think it needs more new blood.
Whatever it is, everyone should treat this as a supplementary tool to drive traffic. The most important traffic driver is still content, won’t you agree with me?
Hey babes, I did try something like this once, but stopped cause i read that ranking could go down for your pagerank… but then agian.. i should be banging on traffic and if really the traffic is real on this.. i don’t mind giving it a shot again .
thanks babes
Thank you for sharing this. I guess, it’s similar with entrecard? And I found out that your blog is interesting!
Keep up the great job
;D
aronil: I don’t think it affects the pagerank, coz PR doesn’t count into your traffic, but maybe Alexa?
curryegg: I am not familiar with Entrecard, but just explored it since you mentioned. It sounds good, and I’ve just joined. They have different concept.
Actually this BE works very well if you participate in all its ‘games’. It has things called Blog Rocket, Blog Tycoon, Blog Battle, etc. Helps driving traffic better if you use its service fully, not just merely surfing and gain traffic credits only.
mm, thanks for the hint suzette! have just signed up, lookin forward to using it!
BTW, what is PPS? =)
Being a website designer myself this does look like an exciting way forward for website design.. very nice blog thanks
[...] I shared in an earlier post, a tool that I used to draw incoming traffic. [...]
Eunice: PPS is project petaling street. It is a portal most Malaysian bloggers hang up and read blogs.
travesti: thanks!
thx for the tip… =D
hav registered for blog explosion thru’ u…
but am still waiting for them to approve the site… it’s taking quite long though…
Janelle - ~*~snowcandi.blogspot.com ~*~
i registered too… hope it really increase my traffic….
refer under you… wow… extra credit rite?
haha!
Janelle: Thanks for signing up under my name.
I hope your blog gets approved soon. I heard some are quite fast, but some quite slow — it is not quite standard, depends on which reviewer gets your blog! I tried to be a reviewer, but not qualified ler…
ericzee: Extra Credit? Oh, you refer to the referral points? Yes, I do get some points, but so far not much lah. Still have to go surf myself. I like the ‘games’ particularly. Sometimes can be quite lucky. I’ve won around 100 points so far. Sometimes bad luck sometimes good. LOL!
suzzette, i went on until it goes to add your rss feed information. i dont understand this. can you give me a low down on this? what am i suppose to type under “feed url”? i assume i need to add this before my site is active to be “ping”?
allthingspurple: usually your feed url is your site follow by feed or rss. For example in Suzette, it is:
http://www.thesuzette.com/feed
or
http://www.thesuzette.com/rss
Hope this helps.
Oh, I’m not quite sure about the Ping thingy, but there are a lot of other fun things to do to earn points before you assign them to be used for traffic. I particularly like Battle of the Blogs, Blog Rockets. Reading blogs from there also helps you to enroll in the monthly credit lottery, which I’ve never won. LOL!
BTW, I’ve lost all my points in recent battle ler… hard earn points, all battles were defeated… sob, sob, sob… :p Next time you vote for me ya? Hahaha!
hi..ive posted about sabah agricultural park..do comment tq..http://sabah-sogood.blogs..good idea about the blog explosion
yay !!! i got accepted at blogexplosion. Now to read your tutorial again. ha ha
allthingspurple: Hehe, good luck! Hope your explode your traffic soon! Remember to fully utilize all the ‘games’ too! Vote for me if you see me in BOTB - will reciprocate the same! :p
I’ve been using blogexplosion for like maybe around a month to date, maybe less. Knew about it quite a while back but it kinda took time for my blog to be approved after I signed up. It took in about a week or so for mine but it’s ok. Not a problem though, what’s important is that I do find it very very useful in a sense that it helps to improve your blog traffic a lot.
I used to have like 50-70 unique visits daily on my blog but with blogexplosion, I managed to get around 150-20 unique hits daily which is a great advantage to me.
I wuld recommend this tool to everyone. It’s way so cool
cibol: Thanks for the testimonial here. Indeed, BE experienced some slow utilization rate of my credits a few months ago. Now that they’ve fixed it, I noticed BE is now my No. 1 referral!!
will definitely vote for you in any way i can, except , what is BOTB? and how do i get about voting for you? sorry i am asking so many questions.
allthingspurple: Hahaha! BOTB is Battle of The Blogs. It is under ‘Games’ on the left side bar. You participate by 2 ways - accept/creative challenge and Voting. When you vote, you get credits - more credit with higher bets. I’ve lost quite a lot of credits in this game, coz my blog isn’t that good I think. :p I think I wrote a post about it, you may search for it.
it may be traffic but even i myself wont bother to really read the content of the blogs i have to view in order to gain credits.
I dont expect much difference from others.
I think it depends on what you want : Readers or Views
(or anything else that comes from views)
of course i may be wrong. please do tell me why if i am wrong.
Of course i wanna increase my traffic too. It’s just that i dont want “clickers”
Hye there..
ohohoh..what a great source..
do u always use this?
thanks for the info
Malaysian Richie Rich
Thanks for informtn !
tq Suzette. I registered mine by the banner from this page, so you are my referrer… My traffic was increase after using BE…
another thing, I get your site back by surfing BE just now… what a fortune, and I just blogmark your site
And just win another 10 mystery credits
by the way, how do you know how much credit you got? after sufting members blog u just log off rite? do you have to report to claim your credit? i never do and i hope i am doing the rigth thing.
JieXian: Well, if you ask my opinion, of course quality visit is more desired. But before you come to that, you might need to build your ranking and reputation, before you can even have good organic traffic (e.g. from Google). This BE is a good start for beginners who want to earn a decent traffic, to at least qualify for certain programs.
Richie: Yes, I use this a lot.
Abusy: you are welcomed.
nizhama: Hey! I checked out your stats, not bad huh! You’ve earned quite a good traffic credits. Glad that it brought traffic to your site as it promised!
allthingspurple: After you earn credits, before you exit, you click the ‘My Account’ link on the top banner (around the bottom right part of that banner). You will be brought to member’s page and at the side bar, click ‘Assign Traffic’, and you will be able to see how much points you have - either unassigned or assigned.
thanks Suzzette, but if i auto assign 100%, does that means I will never get to see how many credits I got? It always is at 0 even though i have been sufting member’s blog. so i always wondered if i did something wrong
allthingspurple: you can check your site statistics - it will show you in total how many visits you have received via BE. Also, I suggest that you also track where your visitors come from (i.e. referrals). Am sure you have either sitemeter or statcounter? With that, you can see referrals from BE, then that is the best way to ensure that.
It’s cool…Furthermore, I’m very damn desperate to have people come to my blog..ahakz..
whoo!!!
Im gonna try this out!!!!
Great, I can’t wait to try this out. I own a blog that I post on nearly every day, but unfortunately hardly anyone visits it. Traffic is soo important and if you don’t know what you’re doing can be very hard to achieve,
