My lovely maid is leaving soon
Though I complaint about her cheating me a couple of times, overall this maid is very good.
Actually those 2 occassions when she cheated me, they were really small matters. The first occassion was a change of correspondence with a ‘blacklisted’ maid next door, she lied that she didn’t, where there were hard evidence (letters) found. The second was she calling her husbands without letting me know, not aware that I could trace the calling card records online.
Anyway, she is really good. She is responsible; she is clean; she is gentle; she likes my children; she is very patient with my kids; she never frowns or give sour face (even when scolded); she always smiles; etc.
You see, she has a very nice personality. In most cases, when someone scolds you, automatically we would look upset even it is our own fault. She is not. She’d still smile at you, and apologize with laughters. Well, perhaps we never really get mad with her, and the ’scolds’ were not really scolds, but rather reminders.
When she first arrived, as I was not used to getting a domestic helper around, I still did a lot of things myself even though I was heavily pregnant. Then, she’d surprise me by finishing all ‘my jobs’ before I get my hands on them! Apparently she had been observing me and learnt what needs to be done and how to do them. I just needed to correct her a little, and everything is perfect.
Well, nothing is perfect, I know. There are a few things her weakness, like forgetting where she hides/keeps our things, but generally we are very happy with her. And I know we shouldn’t trust her so much, that’s why I’ve never left my kids with her alone, all this while.
Whatever it is, no matter how much we like each other, there is an END to every event or relationship. Her contract is expiring in less than a month. She is going home very soon.
We wanted to extend her contract. She wants it too. But her husband doesn’t allow her, so we have to let her go. Actually I see her scared more than happy, with the thought of going home. Really pitty them, their lives there is really difficult. Can’t understand why the husband doesn’t allow her to stay any longer, yet he himself doesn’t work for the family! Lazy and stupid husband.
AARRGGHHH!!! The process of getting another maid is killing me now. Been 3 months! I have been selecting maids and maids and maids. This is the 3rd time the agency contacted me, asking me to choose again. Was it my luck or what? Previously selected ones all with probems.
My traveling will be starting soon, and I am desperate to get a maid to help out MIL!!! Gosh! Hope this one that I am selecting gets her background cleared…

My mom’s maid just left yesterday and my family is already pining for her. She’s one of the best maid I have ever come across and for my mom, it’s 3rd time lucky. Was told there seems to be a shortage of supply. Most of them prefer to go either HK or Spore. Good luck with your search and hope it will work out well!
