4 days no traffic to my blog, I am fried
Since Monday, my site has been returning blank page. Not only that, it also happened in some pages in WP Admin. I could access Dashboard, Write, Manage, Comments, Users and Options. Other than those, all returned blank page.
So, if I tried to edit existing post, yes can be done. If I want to write a new post, yes can be done but the moment I click ‘submit’ it returns blank page.
I can’t do anything to the theme, coz Presentation also blank page. I can’t change plugins, coz Plugin page also blank.
As for www.thesuzette.com, it is completely inaccessible.
On Tue night, I finally managed to get in touch with my host, and he restored the site with backed up file. Okay, it worked.
Then after it is up for about 12 hours, it is inaccessible again. I tried to contact my host to restore the site with backup files, but he is not responding until today!! He gave me his cell phone number, so I can contact him in case of emergency like this. A lesson well learnt – I’ve never bothered about contacting my host, never thought of the need! :p
In total, 4 days my site has recorded no visits including from myself.
Seriously, the damage is really on the traffic and income. Nuffnang must have recorded a new lowest band for me.
One consolation is, there is no campaign running on my site this week, so I owe nothing to any Nuffnang advertisers.
I’ve got 2 new sponsors contacted me during this period, wanting to sponsor this site. One has agreed to “nofollow” tag and placed their order, another one is still pending. I was so anxious during this period, coz I was worried they come and visit the site and saw it inaccessible!
Can you imagine my feeling? I was like being fried in a hot pot of oil, I feel myself burning all the time.
Since I couldn’t blog, I also feel like having Blog-Withdrawal-Syndrome. It is like a drug-addict without drug. A TV-addict without TV. A smoker without cigarette. A shopperholic had her legs chopped off… I just felt doomed.
AARRRHHH!!! I swear I didn’t do anything to the blog when that problem occurred. I really wonder what is the root cause of it. It has happened twice in a row, it can happen again anytime now.
Sob, sob, sob. I’ve searched the WP forum, doesn’t seem to have anyone else facing the same problem. I’m glad it is back now, but can’t hide the worries I have.

Its working now!
Hurray for suzzette!
Congrats!
U finally can access to it
hmm.. that must be a downtime server error.
you just next time install a 404 or 400 or 500 page error. this is to ensure that your visitors know you are having a problem with the site in case it shut downs like this.
at least it gave you lesson to always keep the emergency numbers.. hehehe..
tk care!

3point8/qIngxIa: Thanks! That’s right, it is accessible now. But I am really scared ler, on Tue it was back but only maintained for 12 hours. I just hope this time is sustainable…
syikin: I have 404 page set up. But this isn’t 404. It is only partially accessible. The webpage is not, but 1/2 of the wordpress backoffice was accessible, 1/2 wasn’t. It was a very strange situation. Usually when it has server error, it is the entire site including the backoffice. That’s why my host also scratched head! Yes, you are right about the emergency numbers…
Thanks!
yes yes, I know how it feel. Once my site was down, host slow to respond, a few of my submitted sponsored posts were not approve , and later they decline my work saying that my site is unaccessible. My effort all gone composing those posts.
Phew! Luckily you can access it now and I’m here to help with the traffic spike. Hehe.
Elaine: Oh! In your case, it seems worse. At least I haven’t suffered actual financial lost yet, though the low traffic can cause low income band in Nuffnang, and other chain reaction. Your impact is more direct ya!
MG: Thanks!
You are so nice…
[...] *** And, worst was what I discovered immediately after lunch – my site was inaccessible! [...]
hey same with me here my NO ONE Visits my Site!!
