Here are some of the why’s from Ian for sharing…
When brushing teeth…
Suz: “Ian, don’t spit the water everywhere!”
Ian: “Why?”
Suz: “You’ll wet the whole floor and it will get slippery!”
Ian: “Why?”
When I was sharing the story about the accident in Jakarta…
Suz: “… the car fell off just like that, and it hit another car with a lady driver inside. The dirver died instantly…”
Ian: “Why?”
Suz: “Of course! Imagine if you fell off from such height, do you think you can survive?”
Ian: “No, I will die… Why?”

After the last update on Isabel’s words guessing games, here are more to update.
On Saturday morning (16 Feb), she woke up with a big smile, and looked me in my eyes she said it word-for-word, very clearly:
“Good - Mor - Ning”
Wow! I was so thrilled. She used 3-syllabus and said it correctly! Not the usual “Ng-ng-ning” or “ah-ah-ning”.

With Isabel, my breastfeeding journey was a lot easier as I have the experience from breastfeeding Ian (my first born). I didn’t experience any sore nipples, mastitis, nor serious blocked ducks.
When I was breastfeeding Ian, due to lack of experience and perhaps incorrect handling of breast pump, I had very bad sore nipples. I think I actually tore it with too strong suction of the pump, plus Ian was a strong boy with high demand and strong suction.

The other day, when Ian fed himself, I encouraged him to leave nothing in the bowl. He asked me “WHY?”
I remembered the old folks’ tales, so instead of telling him the correct answer, I told him the tale.
I said, “It was said that, if your bowl is not clean, your wife’s face will have a lot of pimples.”
Wah! After that, a lot of follow up questions!
“What is pimple?”
“You see my face? Those red blisters here and here are called pimples, very painful. Do you want to have pimples?”
“No! I don’t want pimples on my face!”
Then, more questions:

When I had my first baby, I read from somewhere that breastfed babies do not need to be burped. The theory: when a baby is fed directly from the breasts, they don’t drink in any airs, so there is no need to burp them.
Is it true?
I followed the same, coz I didn’t know how to handle a small baby at that time. Skipping the burping routine is like a breeze for me, and further more it was really hard to burp up a gas for Ian - it could take up to 30 mins!
And the results?
I had regurgitating baby who threw out many times after feeds.
Later, I read from different sources, a different theory and opinion on this.
