My second cooking this year – is it okay or not?
After the miserable failure in baking a pizza, I made another cooking attempt on Sunday.
This time, I tried to bake something extremely simple - macaroni cheese. I didn’t take any photo of the process, coz it was something really simple… but I didn’t have any confidence until I ate it. LOL!
Ian was so happy when he saw me pulling out the ingredients from the fridge. He though I was going to bake another pizza and he exclaimed in excitement. See how supportive he is – even with my failed pizza. LOL! After I told him what I was going to cook, he was still very happy and looking forward to eat.
First, I just boiled the macaroni in a pot of water until tender, added salt in the water to taste. After it was cooked, I drained the water, added some olive oil to avoid them being sticky. Then, I placed the cooked macaroni, cooked+sliced saussages and crab filaments into a bowl that is oven safe, mixed in the pasta sauce. Then, covered all the stuff with shredded mozarella cheese and baked in a pre-heated oven for 25 min.
I expected it to be another failure. DH wasn’t confident in me either, but I pretended to be alright though deep in my hard I prayed for it to be okay, otherwise we would have nothing to eat for lunch! And… it turned out to be very well.
I baked 2 bowls, forgot about taking photo until we finished the 1st bowl! Luckily I still had a second untouched bowl to take photo.

This is a very simple cooking – my mom would sure laugh at me. If a dumb cook like me can make it delicious, I’m sure it is fool-proof. LOL!
It actually tasted very yummy! (Of course, Prego sauce is good, not my cooking. Hahaha!) Especially the cheese at the side of the bowl – a little crispy and chewy. Slurp!
Ian saw me taking photo, insisted that I took one for his bowl as well. So funny. Hahahah!

Oh BTW, we couldn’t finish all, and I kept a little left over on the table. When Ian woke up from his nap, he sniffed around and went over to the oven, excitedly thought he found me baking a pizza for him. He loves pizza that much! Well, he finished the leftovers very quickly. My little great supporter…
On the other hand, my maid, maybe also without taste bud like Ian, prefered the pizza over the macaroni. LOL! Whatever it is, I have fans on the failed pizza!

Looks good! I shall try this some time too !
at least you tried maa
I baked mac and cheese once before too – I find that the key to it being superb is the amount of cheese you put in it. The more, the better!
By the way, yours looks yummy
aiyu: try, try! Let me know the outcome?
KY: Hehe, thanks for the encouragement…
Giddy Tiger: Hmm… I think you are very right about the key to success. I emptied the whole bag of cheese on the 2 bowls, covering all the lubangs, and they are the most tasty part. LOL!
Thanks… actually when I blow up the pic, I thought the mac looks quite geli – like little worms.
Congratulations! They looks delicious!
