Mama, uli-uli…
A couple of weeks ago, we attended an informal dinner, and we brought Ian along. I wore this dress, which I bought in 2004 for the Christmas Party with the theme ‘Tropical Christmas’, which I won best dressed (with a fruitty hat).

I’ve only wore this twice, once in that party and once early last year in my sister’s wedding day, during the tea ceremony.
When I sat beside Ian in the car, on the way to the dinner, he suddenly asked me:
“Mama, why you wear like this?”
I asked him what’s wrong to wear like this. And he grinned:
“Hehehehe, mama, you uli-uli errr….!”
(Note: ‘Uli-uli’ means shameful. They like to use this when the kids are naked!)
Is my son old fashioned, can’t see his mama reveals any flesh? LOL!

No offence but I have to say that I agree with Ian
(and kudos to you for raising a young man with the right moral in place). Best part about things that kids say is:It’s often true, said without prejudice and malice. Kids learn far more by what we do than what we tell them. So, what kind of message are you sending to Ian and Isabelle(especially)by putting on that dress?THink deep and think hard.
Maybe he just wasn’t used to seeing you dressed so nicely for the occassion. It might be his own brand of compliment in a way!
hehe…maybe u seldom dress liddat. i remember once i dress sleeveless and the cut is a bit in, my boy kept touching my shoulder LOL…that’s ham sap
EMYYL: Wah, you take this too seriously kah. I thought of sharing this for laugh only… :p
Tot’s mom/jazzmint: Guess you are right. I seldom dress up, and they can tell whether I dress to work in office or not. Sometimes when I send them to MIL’s house without dressing up, my son would ask me whether I worked from home – he knows he could beg me for him to stay at home with me! Kids are just so smart…
