Fire fighting – hate it!
I have been fire fighting lately. And fire keeps come up here and there, appearing when you least expect it to.
First, a mistake in Pakistan, which I accussed agency for, turned out to be a shared mistake which I had played a part when approving it! GRRRHHH!!! This is no end. At 11pm, I am still making phone calls. Even if this blog can be sold for $22k, still cannot cover the sh*t I’m involved in.
Then, another translation mistake in Bangkok, forced me to make tough decision whether to cancel the project or not, the moment I arrived at the airport, less than 12 hours before it started. It eventually went ahead, after 2-3 hours of calling different parties.
Telecon after telecon, calling parties from London, Malaysia, Pakistan, Dubai, Brazil, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia… And the best part is, I shouldn’t be doing this, but my client is out of reach!
Very frustrated and stressed. I think my hair can turn grey when I wake up tomorrow. You think traveling on business is fun?

Oh dear! Hope you’ll get everything sorted out soon. And no grey hairs emerged overnight!
I know what you mean – i used to firefight so manytimes in the past it has some kind of effect in my personality though.. cheers!
fighting is part of my job, but never handled multi projects on multi countires… Hope you will be fine and put off the fire as soon as possible.
Take care.
Tot’s mom: Thanks! I’m still struggling, and I hope too, that everything will be sorted out soon.
ahboon: Sigh, due to cultural differences, there are a few countries quite hard to deal with. Not going to share which countries openly here, but it is indeed very painful…
