How I drooled to win that contest
Previously I mentioned that I joined a contest in order to win a free blog design by Lara.
The winner was announced this morning. I didn’t win. I knew it! I knew I won’t have such luck! Anything to do with luck, I won’t get. I must work hard for it! Sigh!
But then, when I hopped over to Lara’s store to check out her latest designs, I found out that she actually runs a similar contest for the month of December.
In this December contest, or best called ‘lucky-draw’, there are 4 prizes given out:
- Grand prize is $100 design credit
- First prize is mini blog design package worth $70
- Second prize is a free premade blog theme
- 3 runner ups with prize of $25 design credit
Winners will be announced on 12 Jan, 08. She gives a date for checking out the winners – very good, coz I don’t have to go in and check out every day (* blush * I was desperate mah!)
I really like her designs. I checked out her previous deliveries, they are carefully matched with the blog owners’ personality/characteristics, as well as the blog contents. If you follow my blog, you’d know that I’ve been trying to give it a facelift, but I’m still struggling with the codes, etc. I think I have to live with this for a while, unless I engage Lara’s service.
Her pricing is actually quite reasonable, but for cheapskates like me, who do not wish to spend any cents, I really hope to win a free design.
Give me the grand prize, pleeeeaaassseee….!!
Why I want to win it so desperately? Okay, let me explain… I am currently having a 2-column theme, which I modified using the default WP theme. I added a butterfly image as header, changed the background to white as I like something simple, then used it since the day this blog went live! I don’t know why I used butterfly image, it is not something that I like.
Now that I am putting a lot of things in my side bar, I find it very messy to organize and not enough space for adverting. In addition, the main left column is also too narrow.
With this, I started to check around for free 3-column WP themes. None that I like. I finally decided one, but there are just too many customizations required, and I am not good with the codes. Until now, I am still struggling with it.
Oh, one other problem is to do with the header. I really keen to change my header to something more relevant to this blog content, instead of just a butterfly. Have been asking DH to get me a nice photo, but after many attempts, he gave up! He didn’t even come out with anything to ‘propose’.

well you can try entering it again ?
Thanks for the tip..! may be contacting her soon then..
Giddy Tiger: is a different contest.
