Honk! If You’re Malaysian, by Lydia Teh
I bought this book because Lydia Tan is also a Malaysian blogger, and it was recommended by many bloggers.
When I got hold of the book, I read the recommendations at the back of the book. At that point, I started to have some doubt on my purchase. None of the recommenders actually read the book. These are merely advertisements.
I actually had hard time completing the whole book. It was like… reading a blog. It seems like a personal ranting space, which got published into a hardcopy book. When I read, I actually skipped a lot.
I think this book might be useful for non-Malaysian who wants to know a bit more about Malaysians, in terms of the culture and norms. As a Malaysian, I found the book boring.
I had been delaying my review on this book, as I feel bad to rate it low – the first book of a fellow blogger! I’m sorry I’d give it a score of 1 of 5. No offend.
My Score: *

huh? i tok i will be interesting? My friend recommended me, but quite busy recently and not yet start with this book yet.
Wait… next time I publish a book also, you support me no?
shukuen: if you’ve bought it, go ahead to read. Let us know what you feel about the book. What I dislike may be something that you like, just personal preference might be different, right?
Kitkat: Sure, publish and then let me know, I’ll give it a support and probably a free review here. But you can’t control what I write.
LOL!
