These were my 2007 new year resolution:

  • Cook more often
  • Be more patient with Ian
  • Spend more time with children
  • Take children to parks in the morning (weekends)
  • Take children to playground more often
  • Brush Ian’s teeth every night
  • Bring Ian to visit dentist (at least once)
  • Visit dentist twice (myself)
  • Let’s see what’s the achievements…

Cook more often - FAILED. I am still dead guilty on this. My deepest challenge in this is to buy the ingredients. I can’t go to the wet market, so have to rely on super/hypermarkets. No chance to go marketing, no ingredient to cook! Maybe I’ll bake a pizza this new year eve, but I’ll need to get pizza stone, and the toppings… :(

Be more parient with Ian - Okay…. Better than last time, still room for improvement.

Spend more time with children - CHECKED. With the travel budget burst, I stopped traveling in the last 3 months. Stopped completely! Hence, more time with kids. Really enjoyed so much, but it would be hard for a new start in 2008. Children would be very hard to get used to the new schedule…

Take children to parks in the morning - Okay…. More often than the past, though not every weekend mornings. We over slept most of the time. LOL!

Take children to playground more often - CHECKED. More often that’s it, but not very often. The playground is just down there on the ground floor - mostly DH brought them. :P

Brush Ian’s teeth every night - CHECKED. Next year I’d need to make this twice a day. ;)

Bring Ian to visit dentist - CHECKED. His first (and only) visit to dentist was a pleasant one, and he is already looking forward to his next one.

Visit dentist twice (myself) - FAILED. I visited only once, together with Ian. Guilty as dead. :P

That gives me total score of 5 out of 8, not too bad. :P

As for 2008, what’s my resolution? To continue from this year’s list:

  • Visit dentist twice (Ian and myself)
  • Brush Ian’s teeth twich a day
  • Cook more often (ahem!)
  • Work out with kids during weekends
  • Read (and clear!) at least 15 books I’ve bought
  • Teach Ian read time
  • Keep spending within 90% of what is budgetted
  • 7 items for 2008, I guess that’s enough. The last item is particularly hard to achieve, which means I have to really really really (I mean REALLY) keep track of my expenses regularly. Not that I’ve overspent a lot, but if I’ve followed regularly…, DH might not be grumbling too much. He kept asking me to buy the book Women & Money to read, sounds like blaming for over spending… but why I don’t feel it? :P

Okay, adding one more to the list:

  • Get a copy of Women & Money
  • …AND READ it, of course. ;)

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all who visit my blog. May you have a prosperous and great year ahead!

    Suzette

in this modern age… cooking seems to be an impossible task, destined only for domestic helper?

Ian cant brush his own teeth?

strange… no new year resolution with husband?

MamaBok: Happy New Year to you too! :)

zewt: Ian can brush, but I have to examine and clean up plus flossing for him. And sometimes he refuses to brush his own teeth too! Very difficult…
