’07 year end review & ’08 new year resolution

Published by suzette under All,Miscellaneous

These were my 2007 new year resolution:

  • Cook more often
  • Be more patient with Ian
  • Spend more time with children
  • Take children to parks in the morning (weekends)
  • Take children to playground more often
  • Brush Ian’s teeth every night
  • Bring Ian to visit dentist (at least once)
  • Visit dentist twice (myself)
  • Let’s see what’s the achievements…

Cook more often – FAILED. I am still dead guilty on this. My deepest challenge in this is to buy the ingredients. I can’t go to the wet market, so have to rely on super/hypermarkets. No chance to go marketing, no ingredient to cook! Maybe I’ll bake a pizza this new year eve, but I’ll need to get pizza stone, and the toppings… :(

    Breastfeeding benefit: no frill outings

Published by suzette under All,Brfg: Others

There are so many benefits of breastfeeding. One of the benefit most breastfeeding moms would not notice until they wean their children is the ease of going out.

For moms who breastfeed, when we go out shopping or one short errands, we just need to take a few pieces of changing clothes and diapers, then leave the house.

Compared to us, those who feed formula milk, apart from changing clothes and diapers, they need to bring: hot water, milk bottle, milk powder.

Not only the packing of these items are messy, the preparation also is troublesome. For us, when baby is hungry, we just need to sit down and feed straight away. No preparations, no tag along of many items, no waiting time for kids…

When going for longer trips that require overnight stays, breastfeeding is even more convenient. Similar to short trips, we just need to bring baby’s changing clothes and diapers.

    The Cartoon Quiz

    Published by suzette under All,Blogging,Miscellaneous

I got this from All Things Purple, but instead of tag I prefer to call this a quiz. It IS actually a quiz, quite a fun one.

    INTRO TO THE QUIZ
Everyone has a personality of a cartoon character. Have you ever asked yourself what cartoon character do you most resemble? A group of investigators got together and analyzed the personalities of well known and modern cartoon characters. The information that was gathered was made into this test.

    HOW TO DO THE QUIZ?
Answer all the 10 questions with what describes you best, add up all your points at the end and look for your results. Do not cheat by looking at the end before you are done. (Make sure to BOLD your answers)

    QUIZ STARTS…

    1. Which one of the following describes the perfect date?
    a) Candlelight dinner (4 pts.)
    b) Fun/Theme Park (2 pts.)
    c) Painting in the park (5 pts.)
    d) Rock concert (1 pt.)
    e) Going to the movies (3 pts.)

    Violence invaded my home

    Published by suzette under All,Ian

Perhaps influenced by TV, perhaps heard us talking about the crimes, somewhat Ian started to act violently.

Well, this doesn’t happen just yesterday or today. I’ve seen this coming.

On Christmas day, in my mom’s house, he was angry with me for asking him to eat more. He screamed at me: “Beat you! I beat you!”

On Boxing day, in MIL’s house, he screamed at MIL: “I don’t want you! I kill you! You die! I go back to my house!”

Later I explained to him how disappointed I am with his way of speaking, and how it hurt MIL and me. The problem is, I’m not sure whether he listens or not, coz before I say much he already kept apologizing.

“I’m sorry mama. I’m very sorry to you.”

MIL refused to accept his apologies. I know it is hard for her, coz everytime Ian does something bad he just apologies very quickly, and then repeat the same. He apologies too easily without really mean it. Sigh! I find it hard to accept his apologies as well, not to mention MIL.

I brought him home after lunch on the same day (since I worked from home). He seem to be really sorry for what he said and really behaved. After waking up from his nap, he sat on the couch and suddenly said: “Mama, I will not kill you again.”

See, this is Ian – how to remain angry with him? He could really make me laugh!

    My additional ‘ME’ time

    Published by suzette under All,Miscellaneous

Last month, in my precious ‘me’ time, I mentioned that I felt it wasn’t enough, and I really meant it. :P Of course, who (especially moms) would think they have enough ‘me’ time and felt sick of it?! ;)

I am a movie lover. Thought I stopped going to cinema as often as I did in the past, I am still a movie lover. What I enjoy most is to be able to watch a few movies at one go.

On Christmas eve, I took a day off. Just happened that my cousin has additional advertiser passes for me, I induldge myself with what I longed for (though a bit tight in terms of timing).
