Why Dofollow blogs are worth visiting?

I received some emails asking what I wrote about joining the dofollow community, and what’s the benefits to visitors.

Alright let me explain here for all.

By default, all the blog’s default setting is to include a rel=’nofollow’ in comments. Before I turned that off, if you leave a comment here with your blog’s URL, your site was not linked back. That is, no matter how many comments you left, you couldn’t see the linkback from Technorati, etc, and it won’t count towards your incoming link.

Now, since I’ve turned it off with Lucia’s Linky Love dofollow plugin, you get automatic link back with every comments that you make here.

It worths your time better, by visiting blogs without nofollow and leaving comments there, compared to sites which are not - unless they write very good contents. :)

We are also currently in the process of removing the nofollow tag from all of our blogs as I believe the dofollow tag encourages commentors that otherwise would have not commented as they will now get linked back. As a webmaster i am in a better position to determine a spam link than google so i’m happy to to remove dofollow also.

Rohit Tiwari: I took it out because of 3 reasons: 1 - it didn’t help to increase traffic nor comment rate as I hoped it would. 2 - I received too many spammy comments mostly trying to get a link back without adding value to the comments. 3 - I’m not sure what is Google’s stance in this, just a prevention not to lose my PR again –> this is a passive move, and not confirmed.
