My Collection of Books (pt 1)
I love books, and I have a lot of books, or to be more accurate – novels. I detest textbooks.
I always dream to have a library room of my own, to keep all my books.
I read both Chinese and English novels. I keep a collection of all the books from my most favourite author – 金庸. He writes Chinese kungfu novels, and some of his works were translated into other languages. He doesn’t write on quantity, but quality. His first book was written in 1955 and he stopped writing in 1972. Since then, he spent his time correcting the 15 stories he has written. Few years ago, they were republished. I hate this, coz it means I’ll have to buy a second set of his so-called ‘corrected’ books! When I find the space, I will still buy – I know myself, I just love him too well.
In one of his interviews, he made a Chinese poem with the first alphabet of all the titles he has written. As he has written 15 stories, only 1 was left out:
飞雪连天射白鹿
笑书神侠倚碧鸳
The one that was left out is: 越女剑. He is really a genious.
Apart from his books, I seldom read other Chinese author’s. Used to like 倪匡, but that was at least 20 years ago!
My friend said what I read do not enhance my internal soul, and she recommended me 刘庸 (not sure which chinese character). I’ve only read one of his book, and it was in a very rush manner (borrowed). Maybe she’s right about that kind of soul enhancing books, but I really prefer to read story books. A nice book without nice storyline is hard to get me hooked.
I know I am shallow… let me be shallow then.

[...] I have this post about my book collections, and it was “Part 1“. There never was a part 2 or sequence to that! Hahahaha! What happened, I can’t [...]
