Television

Can you live without television for a month? What about any longer?

My house’s television has been with us for 6 years. Very low usage. I can avoid touching it for a month. The only users are DH and Ian. DH sometimes watch at night, and he is one of those type who would switch on during weekends although he’s not watching (sometime even in another room!). Maybe he just wants the sound?

Ian, already got used to watching TV at MIL’s house, always requests to watch during weekends. I always limit his TV watching to once a week (either Sat or Sun), and 15 or 30 min limit.

Last Sun, when DH was still in Shanghai, and since my 2 kids and me had spent some good time outside on both Fri and Sat, I’ve decided to watch TV at home. Ian and I watched the Transformer DVD.

Monday, DH told me that the TV spoiled, cannot be switched on already. Luckily, when he arrived on Sunday night, he still able to switch on the TV. Otherwise I’d think it was me who spoiled it!

So, we are now down to no TV for nearly a week. Just sent to repair shop yesterday. I can live without a TV, but I can sense DH is very uneasy now. :P Well, I think he should start reading some books…
