People Spacing

Published by suzette under All,Traveling

I wrote about strangers asking uneasy private questions, and here there are people who do not respect distance or space others required.

I am quite particular on my OWN space. In a confined space like the plane, I consciously always ensure that I do not invade into the next passenger’s space, and I hope for the same respect in return.

In most cases, season travelers are quite good at this. But in some cases, there are people who just don’t care that they touch you, or their things all fall into your seat. They can occupy the whole of the middle mini table (only for 1st/business class). Their bag and other belongings on the floor, some has gone over to your legging areas and you’ve got no place to put your feet down. When queuing to leave the aircraft, they don’t mind their big belly pushing your backpack and nearly toppled you.

Well, this usually happen to certain nations only. I think in certain countries, the ‘people spacing’ is narrower. In those countries, when they queue up, they actually lean on the person in front. When they talk to you, they stand at a very close distance, the breath can be felt on your face – if you take a step back, they take a step forward until you are cornered with no space to back off. This is not sexual harassment though, coz they do this to the same gender as well.

Sigh! If this is a cultural thingy, it would be hard to protest, especially if they do not understand and if they have not traveled to other countries.

Nicholas Cage

Published by suzette under All,Miscellaneous

I’ve never found Nicholas Cage handsome. Never.

Indeed, I find him looks quite ugly and scary (Sorry, please don’t fire if you are his fan!). I think he looks more like a bad guy or psychopathic.

His long hair makes his bald forehead even more ugly. Don’t know why he always got the chance to play a romantic character (though in action/thriller). No doubt he is good in acting, but I just can’t relate him with romantic lover or a nice/good guy.

Recently I watched his movie ‘Next’ on my way to Delhi. He looks quite psycho to me, his face is really like a dirty, crazy bad guy. But he was actually playing the role of a nice guy with the ability to see what happens in the next 2 minutes. There is a romance in between him and a lady he deeply in love.

Seriously, if I’m that girl, I’d be scared to death, if someone looks like Nicholas Cage approaches me like that. I think if he is not Nicholas Cage, he’d be caught by police. :P

Anyway, putting appearance aside, he is no doubt a great actor. I like almost all of his movies. He is really a talented one.

Courteous Indians

Published by suzette under All,Traveling

In the last survey conducted by some organization (can’t remember), Malaysia was regarded as rude and lack of courteousness. For once, I protested, and thought we are a courteous bunch of people.

In this 3rd trip to New Delhi, I finally learnt what courteous means…

After registering at the hotel, the front desk instructed a guy to escort me to my room. There are people from concierge to take care of my luggage, but this guy’s duty is to ensure that I get into the room safety and that the key works. No doubt, I’m sure he expects to be tipped, but the tipping amount expected is usually small, not even half a dollar!

When the hotel car dropped me at my office, I asked which direction I should go (there are 2 blocks and within the same block there are 2 wings). After telling me, I was actually quite clear of the way, but the driver went an extra mile by asking an office worker there to escort me to my office. Well, actually I was extremely uneasy with this, as I seldom trouble others and I can handle it myself! :)

And the next day morning, while I was waiting for my colleague to pick me from the hotel, the hotel’s travel manager came asking whether I needed my office drop, as he recognized me from the day before!

In my office, the office cleaner was extremely friendly. He served me drinks, helped me with the electric sockets, etc, without me even asking!

My colleagues are also very courteous. They offered to make arrangements for me to visit Taj Mahal, as I’ve never been there (so sad, three times here still miss it). I didn’t take the offer coz I have too little time to go – it needs a 1-day trip.

This is definitely a more pleasant trip, and I felt being treated like a VIP. :P

Amelia, Desa Parkcity

Published by suzette under All,DPC,Miscellaneous

Yesterday and today are the launch dates for the latest project of the Desa Parkcity — Amelia.

My family went there to check out. Whew! The cheapest lot costs RM795k, for a double storey link.

My friends were there as well, and we talked about the prices of these properties. A few years ago, to buy a 500k unit, we have not enough to pay for down payment. And within just a couple of years, the prices have rised so much. If we had managed to borrow the down payment, now we would have made a few hundred thousands already! Sigh! That’s how the rich get richer…

Back to Amelia, the latest project. Its location is not as good as other projects, not around the central park. It is located behind the Chinese primary school, adjacent to the bungalow and semi-Ds. It is no doubt nearer to the higher ends of the total project, neighbour with the most expensive properties of the Desa Parkcity, but not within walking distance to the central park.

Isabel’s Love

Published by suzette under All,Isabel

Until last week, Isabel still doesn’t know how to kiss yet.

Her kisses were very funny — she pressed her lips on my palm/cheeks and BLOW!

This week, on either Tue or Wed (can’t recall), she actually kissed me now, with the real ‘muak’!

And until yesterday morning, she was still unable to say ‘I Love You’. But when I picked her from my mom’s house last evening, she said ‘I Love You’! Well, to be exact, she said ‘Ah Laff You’. Very closed. Haha, at least she didn’t pronounce it as Ah Fuh Di, like how Ian did. ;)
