Mailboxes
I live in an apartment, so don’t have to think of mailboxes to be installed for my house.
But, my mom’s house and MIL’s house are landed properties. Both of the houses’ mailboxes are different, one is made of plastic (the typical red colour type) and one is made of steel with glass opening at the inside end.
Both are also conventional type, the standard ones. And both are not lasting.
My mom’s one is the built-in, with glass door facing the house. The glass door’s panels just torn apart, and the glass smashed. So, it is as good as no door. If it rains, all letters get wet, and it is literally ‘flooded’ inside the mailbox.
MIL’s mailbox’s door hook was broken, it can’t be closed. So, if we don’t retrieve the letters immediately, the letters would fall on the floor. Very messy.
I’ve stumbled upon this site where there are many choices of residential mailboxes as well as commercial mailboxes. I like some of those designs like these few below:

But then, knowing how ‘clever’ our postmen are, they might not know these are mailboxes and may not find the ‘entrance’ to put the letters! LOL!
