eBay Shopping

Published by suzette at 9:16 am under All,Food/ Shopping

Since I’ve earned some money from blogging, I’ve got some fund in PayPal. Although someone has shared with me how to cash the money out, but since it cost so much and so troublesome, I’ve not followed yet.

I started to look out in eBay, first I looked for children’s audio books.

Well, being first time to eBay, I was so excited finding lots of bargain available there. But later, I got very disappointed, coz the shipping fees to Malaysia is so expensive. There are good deals with less than $1, but shipping can be $20!!

I browsed around, and found a good deal. One of the seller in US offers flat rate shipping of $1.99 for 1 children audio book (1CD), and additional item is only $0.89 if combine shipped.

I tried that out. Since no one competed with me on that, I won that item for $0.99. Total fee was just $2.98 (RM 10.43). I received that CD already here, and am very happy with that.

Soon after that, I bought a few more from this seller. And then… my cousin (London) and my colleague (US) offered to receive those items for me and bring to me when we meet.

From there onwards, I was like crazy. I kept shopping and shopping. But mostly I bought books and audiobooks. The only thing that stops me from buying too much is the fear of occupying too much luggage space, coz these are not small/light items! Of course, my PayPal money isn’t that much. :P

But I really envy these US citizens, they can buy these things so cheap! Really don’t understand, why they can get these items — NEW, UNUSED, at that such low prices. UK is still considered expensive, but US is really really cheap that I feel jealous ler… :P

Malaysia — hopeless lah! I first browsed through eBay Malaysia, audiobooks? – really question mark. Not many choices, and not cheap also, even before adding shipping!

I have never ventured into eBay but have you tried eBay Spore?

EMYYL: Oh ya, I’ve forgot about singapore completely. Maybe the shipping is not bad! I should then do it now! :)

I’m surprised you could find such low rates for shipping. Most of the time my shipping cost almost as much as my books. I buy mostly books that I can’t find here at our local bookstores.

MG: That’s why I quickly bid for the audio book. I think the seller made a lost on that, as I bought at the base price. The stamp was already $2.70 (on the envelop). And the listing fee was $0.20, plus eBay charge 5% on selling price, i.e. 0.10 for my item. So, the total cost for this seller was actually $3.00! I paid $2.98. I think he made a lost of 2 cents, plus man power to ship. :P

Subsequently I bought 3 CDs from him, combined shipping gave some savings: I paid $6.14 including shipping (the stamp was $3.90 on the envelope) — average out to be RM7.16 per audio book. The best deal I could find!

Now, someone found this seller also, and I cannot successfully bid at the open bid price already… :P But I am already so happy. Hahaha!

Can I email you to check with you your experience? I want to know which seller gives good shipping cost and what books worth buying! All the shipping fee I found can be 3-4 times the book’s cost.
