Walking Milk Bottle
I’ve been breastfeeding Isabel all these while, 13 months already passed. Since before I started working, we tried to give her bottles with no avail.
Until now she still rejects milk bottles. When I am away for business trips, she’d rather starve. Now that she is on solid, she won’t really starve, but she’d rather not drink any milk – at least for the first 24 hours. Only after a day passed, she’d compromise and drinks a reasonable amount of milk from bottle.
When I’m around, bottle is not an option for her! So choosy.
Sometimes, when I reached home from the office, instead of calling me ‘Mama’, she’d call me ‘Nen Nen’ (milk-milk)!
Sometimes when I pick her up, eventhough she had her food, she’d point at my breasts and demand for her ‘Nen Nen’. If not given, she’d be frustrated, trying to lift my shirt at the same time screaming! Very funny!
Because of her choosiness, my stock of frozen EBM is still not depleted yet. I still have 2 freezer full of EBM that can last one full month, or even two – depends how much she’d take from bottles.
Though it is early yet, I’m quite worried how can I wean her at the end of 2 years. I think she is treating me like her walking milk bottle. Or worse still, she might see me as her PACIFIER! I think she now sucks for comfort already. Hahaha!
