Being On Leave

Published by suzette at 6:12 pm under All, Isabel

I’m on annual leave now. Well, actually, I am supposed to be in KK now already, enjoying my holiday with DH and our friends, 3 couples. Now, two couples (including us) dropped out.

We’ve decided not to go, very last minute-ly, actually yesterday.

That’s because Isabel’s fever (started on Sunday) didn’t go off until yesterday. Her fever was consistently high between 39.9 to 40.9 for at least 24 hours, depite sponging and having paracetamol (panadol).

After I picked her up from MIL last night, I gave her Veron, sponged her, another dosage of antibiotic (amoxicilin). Tried to divert her attention so that she won’t vomit and let the medication works…

All that paid off. Her fever went off by 10pm, and never come back.

I guess it didn’t work earlier partly due to her vomit. She has been vomiting since Monday night, started at the doctor’s clinic. She has been vomitting violently, even when her stomach got nothing to come out she still had that ‘action’. We kept changing bedsheets, our clothes and her clothes.

I am glad the one effort to stop the vomit helped, finally, to stop the fever. Poor Isabel.

And Poor Me and DH – took leave but no holiday. Now, children’s slave. :P

Glad to hear Isabel is much better. Sometimes Amoxilin can trigger nausea and cause bloatedness/gassiness. My husband and I both don’t react well to it,have to always ask the doctor to give some other kind of antibiotics.

EMYYL: Now you mention it, I guess Isabel is cranky, bloated, vomited –> probably because of Amoxicilin…

Make a note of it and let the paed know the next time if she needs antibiotics. For adults. if Amoxcilin have to be prescribed, the doctor will give another kind of medicine to counter the effect.

I don’t think you missed much from the KK holiday, except for a tan and some sunburn …and seafood ! :)
