Coxsackie

Published by suzette under All, Ian, Isabel

Ian and Isabel were infected with coxsackie.  Yes, that nasty virus.  :(

Ian first complaint about ‘teeth-pain’ on Wed (4th day of CNY).  I was too careless, I thought he has tooth decay and ignored him.  On Thurday, he complaint about ‘teeth-pain’ again.  I looked inside, and saw an ulcer.  I thought he was dehydrated, since it is common during CNY.  I just gave him a lot of water to drink and stopped him from eating ‘heaty’ stuff.

On Friday, he was too painful that he stopped drinking milk - 4 consecutive times.  I suddenly thought of coxsackie.  Took a torchlight looked inside.  My god!  Full of ulcers.  I bet it must be very painful.  My poor boy.

Then, I saw Isabel’s lips started to have 2 blisters.  I brought them to see the doc.  He suspected coxsackie and said nothing we can do - no antibiotic can be given as it is virus infection.  We just need to monitor and make sure they are well hydrated.

Old Childhood Friend

Published by suzette under All, Sponsored Posts

WT is my long ‘disconnected’ old childhood friend.  We were best friends since I was 7 (or even 6) years old.  We were neighbours and went to the same primary school.  The last time we met was at least 2 or 3 years ago.  It was too long that I cannot remember when!

I met her husband once, before they got married, and once during her wedding dinner.

Before she ‘found’ her husband, it was very difficult for her to find a boyfriend.  She was a very shy girl (as I remembered), doesn’t mix around well.  Well, she actually first ‘met’ her husband online.  Her husband is a Singaporean.  Now, she is married and staying in Singapore, that’s why it is very difficult and rare for us to meet up.

I didn’t know online dating works.  This is a life example!  In my previous post, I have shared a survey results on this topic.  I don’t really believe only 4% of Singaporeans ever used the Internet to find love, coz I personally know of a few friends saught love online!  ;)

Travel with EBM

Published by suzette under All, Breastfeeding, Brfg: Travel

After the recent bomb scares using milk bottles, my breastfeeding journey is getting more and more difficult.

Last year returning from Chicago was already challenging, but still manageable as I could check in the frozen ebm (expressed breast milk) with dry-ice (as in frozen CO2).  All my other trips last year within Asia was okay, without liquid ban policies.

But then, just as I started traveling again this year, my first trip was faced with my first liquid ban, when I returned from Manila.

I least expected this, and didn’t get myself prepared.  Luckily the way I traveled allowed me to immediately check in all my luggages and ebm, and luckily it was a short haul.

How did I do that?  I normally travel light with only half of my luggage filled with clothes (even for 4D trip).  Nowadays, to transport my ebm, I carry 2 small cooler bag/box.  I put one cooler box inside my other half of luggage bag.  In that cooler box, I line the sides with ic packs.

Medela PIS for Traveling?

After my sister bought me the Medela PumpInStyle, I have been using it everyday until my business trips started.

In my trip to Manila, I didn’t bring it.  I only brought Avent.  When I was there, I missed the PIS so much that I’ve decided to bring it to Bangkok the week after Manila.  It was a short 2D1N trip.

This trip with PIS proved disasterous.  Arrived at the airport, I wanted to pump in the lounge.  Then remembered I forgot to buy batteries (for usage without electric outlets).  It uses 10 AA batteries, and I spent RM35 just on the batteries in the airport.

Just when I first used it in Bangkok office, after I plugged in the adaptor, before switching on, I heard a loud explosion and smelled something burnt.  Okay, now the adaptor is gone!  Through out the whole trip I had to use the batteries.

Not only that, when I was back to KL, I checked with all shops, the adaptor cannot be repaired.  To buy one, it costs c. RM130!!!

PPP Tack Rating

Published by suzette under All, Blogging

What is your PayPerPost’s tack rating?  Mine is 4 of 5.  I didn’t know it means anything until lately.  After the segmentation, there are opportunities that are opened to a specific rated bloggers.  And being rated 4 also allows me to have all my posts automatically approved too!

I’m not sure how easy or difficult to be rated 4 of 5, but I simply feel good as I assume it is not that easy.  :P  I always think very positively, especially about myself.  :D
