Unexpected Visitor

Yesterday after work, rushed to pick up kids and reached home at 8:15pm.  Bathed the children and myself, changed into my pyjamas and no bras at 8:30pm.

Have 2 hungry children waiting to be fed, plus a hungry stomach of mine.  At 8:45pm when I was feeding Ian and talking on the phone (seriously) on some crisis at home (don’t ask), DING-DONG!  The door bell rang.

Opened the door, stood there, my long lost friend.

She was here last week, but called before she came.  She tried to sell some financial products.  She offered to come by again to show me a proposal.  I turned her down, because to get a financial product I’d rather buy from financial expert, instead of anyone who ask me to ‘help her financial status’ instead of offering me something to ‘help my financial’.

How dare she, just came again yesterday without informing!  I was in my pyjamas without bras, wet hair, with 2 crying hungry kids to attend to and a super duple hungry stomach.  And it was near my sleeping time!  Yes, we all sleep latest at 9:30pm.  We are all very tired, coz we wake up at 6′ish.

I tried to be polite by telling her my situation.  She just came in, sat there watching me busy with my tasks, smiled as if acknowledging my inconvenience.  #*&(#*$&($*# (really want to curse at her)

Then, MIL called, we continue our chat on the ‘crisis issues’.  After putting down the phone, I asked this friend to leave (politely and apologically).  Before she left, she still wanted to sell me that financial product.  I think if she stayed another 5 minutes I would probably lose my patience and screamed at her!

Next time, if she dares turning up like this again, I’m going to hide inside the room and ask the maid to tell her off.  My limit is over.  3 visits are more than enough to tell one’s intention.

I can empathize with that! We have a Taiwanese friend who has no inkling of social etiquette and being a night owl who never sleeps before 3 am, she would ring up past 10 or 11 pm sometimes. very annoying!

jazzmint: Ya, these people never consider other people’s schedule. No social etiquette at all. She probably thinks if she rings up first she would not be able to see me at all (which is true), so might as well try her luck - a very bad sales attitude.

Caprice: Your friend is bad. But phone calls can be ignored - I always do that once I go into my bed. But to let someone waiting outside the door… I am always ’softhearted’, must change!

I always stay away from friends like this, and seldom have friends over my house. BTW, next time don’t let her come it!

I can understand that, I hate that too! Each time a friend (whether long lost or current) or colleague try selling me insurance, trust fund, retirement plan or MLM stuff…I killed them and put them in my fridge. They usually don’t get to see the next sun rise. :D

I cannot believe it. How outrageous. Wow, people are really trying hard to sell with no regard to anything. i think I’d look at her, the way she would not want to come back again. just being polite :-)
