Lift Emergency Knowledge
Received this tips in an email, thought it is worth sharing.
Let’s say, if your are inside a lift and if the electricity been cut-off… though the emergency electircity supply will come in immediately, the lift will still drop with free fall. Without knowing when it will touch the ground, if you are not well prepared for its landing, your bones are likely to be crushed and cause death.
What should you do then?
- Immediately press all the floor numbers, regardless of how many are there
–> to help it stop asap, before reaching the ground - If there is a handle, hold it tight with one hand
–> to balance yourself, avoid falling down when landed - Press the whole back against the wall in straight line
–> to allow the wall be your backbone support - Slightly bend your knees
–> to support the force during landing
