Wedding Dinners

Now I just have the time to write about my best friend’s and my first cousin’s (CH) wedding.  They happened a month ago!

Both of their wedding dinners were in the same hotel, but one week apart, with my best friend’s go first.  My best friend, TM, is the one residing in Shanghai now, married to a Hungarian.

Same Westin Hotel, same dinner package (Innovative Chinese), same price – just because they made some changes to the menu, the results came out to be very different for both.

TM’s dinner actually has better presentation and very tasty, above most of our expectation.  Service was also very good!

On the other hand, CH’s dinner wasn’t that well presented, most dishes weren’t tasty, coupled with very poor service – which I made quite a few complaints!

Anyway, I must make a note on CH and her helpers’ effort to make her wedding dinner/day a success.  The invitation card was handmade – very nicely done!  There was a theme, i.e. Fairy Tale.  They handmade all the decos, those are not cheap wedding favors.

Their decos are all in butterfly forms, supporting the ‘Fairy Tale’ theme.  There are 1+4 bride’s maids.  CH’s sister was the ‘chief’, dressed differently.  The other 4 bride’s maids’ dress were taylor made, with wings that resembled butterflies.

On the tables, the deco’s are all in butterfly — menu, chopsticks deco, etc.

It was really an event that guaranteed to be memorable.  CH also hired an event photographer.  During the dinner, they showed the photos taken the week before in Ipoh – so awesome!  Actually, I was very touched and emotional when I watched the slide show.  Nearly cried.

Another noteworthy thing is, we had the tea ceremony two hours before the dinner started.  It took place in one of the hotel’s conference room.  This was the best tea ceremony I’ve attended so far.  The environment was so classy, comfortable, nice looking… With the event photographer, it makes the whole thing even more stand-out!

I believe she must have spent a good fortune on this!
