Lipsticks
I seldom put on lipsticks in front of Ian. In the past when I put on lipsticks, he was too young to notice and/or to comment.
Last weekend I attended my cousin’s wedding dinner, I put on a full make-up.
In the car, I sat beside Ian. Suddenly he saw my lipstick and said “胭脂”. I think he must have learnt it from my mom coz MIL doesn’t put on make up. So, I taught him ‘lipstick’ in English.
I then showed him that lipstick can leave marks, by kissing his fist. He was so intrigued with that, kept asking me to do that.
This morning, he woke up earlier, before I left the house for work. He saw me dressed up and said “Mama go to work” - well, he associates dressing up with working. ;) And, after that, he wanted me to kiss his fist for the mark!
To satisfy him (actually also for fun), I used lipstick today - upon my little son’s request! He was happy with the kiss mark later. ![]()

Ian didn’t ask to play with your lipsticks like 蜡笔小新
Ahh.. what an affectionate boy Ian is..
egghead: aiyoh, I ‘tolong’ him not to do that loh…
mama bok: ya, since very young he was already very affectionate. I actually like that.
The lipstick mark is fun when he’s small, but not when he’s married. LOL.
oh so cute hehe…my girl oso likes lipstick. she already broke one of mine!! And everytime she sees lipstick, she will attempt to open it and put on her mouth
So now you have to use lipstick everyday LOL!
Luckily he didn’t ask for a try on his lip!
jason: yaloh, I didn’t think of that too - see, man’s thought is different!
jazzmint: wow, she is imitating you huh!
huisia: nope, not everyday still, coz Ian doesn’t wake up early everyday (I wake up at 6am, leave the house at 7:30).
I think he didn’t ask to put on his lips because I didn’t do it for him - if I did it once, he will sure want it everytime - so, just don’t let him try at all. He is a very good boy, he never insist on things that I’ve never allow him to do.
He likes to have lipstick marks? That’s so cute.
Why not kiss his lip too, then he also can have a mark on his lip..haha.
Shoppingmum: I think he likes anything that is new to him. Aren’t all kids like that?
1+2mom: Hahahaha! Good idea, but then, he now refused to kiss with his lips already - a stage that he is shy about it now.
Hi Suzette, the neck float was something my colleague in China bought for me. I don’t know how much and where you can get it. You may want to ask your colleague to advice.
Aah.. Ian is growing up really well.
