Eventful Beijing Trip
I am now in Beijing. There are 2 things that I would like to write about this trip. I’ll split this into 2 posts.
First one first…
This trip is definitely very interesting and eventful. I almost thought God doesn’t want me to be in Beijing already. Seriously, if I have the say, I’d probably cancel my trip - afraid of it being a sign that tells me not to come (you watched the series ‘Lost’??).
Anyway, I’m here now, safe and enjoying myself, so nothing to be worried about.
I was supposed to leave last night (Monday night). On Sunday night/ Monday morning, Ian had high fever that did not go off despite several doses of Paracetamol. It made me worried like hell. Doc couldn’t find anything wrong and suspected it was just a cold.
Alright, then just an hour before taxi uncle picked me up to the airport, it poured so heavily. It was worst when the taxi uncle waiting in front of the house!
Fine, I still caught my flight without delay. I was supposed to be in the Beijing airport at 6:30am this morning.
Da da da da! I ended up landing in Shanghai Pudong airport at 8am.
???? WHY??? The weather in Beijing was too bad for safe landing. It was too misty, visibility was around 15 meter only. The plane circled in the air, around 200km south of the city, for 30 min, then decided to change course to Shanghai.
We parked in the open cargo plane area - not allowed to get off the plane. Waited for 2 hours, did some refuelling. At 10am only got clearance to go back to BJ.
Finally, I landed at 12:13am. 6 hours delayed.
I find it really funny, as if I took the wrong light, went to the wrong city! :P Well, at least added some spices to my boring business trips.
Luckily I didn’t have any meetings scheduled in the morning as usual, otherwise I’d be panic already.
And luckily this is not a holiday trip for me, otherwise rugi loh! ![]()
