Chicago Trip (Cont’d)

Published by suzette at 9:13 am under All,Food/ Shopping,Traveling

Here is the continuation of my previous blog on Chicago trip.

Remember I once couldn’t decide whether to select Gangster Tour or Navy Pier?  We actually went to both.

Gangster Tour is not as excited as it sounds.  Believe it or not, I actually slept during the tour!!  It was so boring that it only involves one guy (tour guide) standing in front and tells us the story of the famous gangsters.  As the bus goes, he pointed to left and right, to some building and told us who did what there.  Sometimes I wonder if he was telling the real stuff or just simply made up.  :P

Photo of the guide with a ‘gun’.  Look at the area behind his head, those are fake bullet marks.

That was our first official night after a whole day of meeting.  Second night we had dinner on a cruise on Lake Michigan.  Pretty boring stuff also.  Not as nice as what it seem in the Apprentice.  We got ticket for the less formal cruise, buffet style dinner.  The boat just went north and south along the bays, and it was quite ‘wavy’ (dunno how to describe).  I almost got motion sickness at one point, coz most of the time it wasn’t moving.

Navy Pier

The only good thing about the cruise is that it allows us overlooking the Chicago city, very nice night view.

The bad thing is, after dinner we cannot leave as we normally would, but to stay until the party is over.  They had the dance floor opened.  People dancing on the floor.  Music too loud to chat.  To me, the loud and noisy music makes me more drousy, and… again, believe it or not, I slept!

I found it cute that this horse caravan riding is everywhere in the city, just like our beca.  :)

And another commentable thing is food.  I think Chicago people loves to eat, just like Malaysian, compared to those in Houston.  :P

The pizza is very famous.  One afternoon we had lunch at the famous Giordano’s place.  We didn’t know the ‘thick’ pizza is the speciality in Chicago.  Until we all ate the pizza only found out.  So, only able to get this photo of the leftover.  Doesn’t look quite appetizing from this photo – furthermore, I used the wrong camera setting!

Each of us we given a set of ingredient , cook book and utensils to make Chicago pizza.  I am supposed to make one, but… I don’t cook.  :P

Oh, there was this ‘Kitchen Game’ that we played.  I will write about it separately.  That was fun.  The meeting organizer was very creative.
