Back to Work

I resumed work on Monday.  Very busy with the handover of stuff from my temp relief as her last day was Wed.  My boss also handed over her projects and stuff to me, as she is taking leave from today, for 2+ weeks.  I have to man the fort this time.

Very busy.  Guess there will be no updates for another week or so.  There will be some traveling to do too, before and after Chicago.  I’m worried about milk stock, due to the new airline security policy of no liquid on board - how to bring home my milk?!!!

I’m afraid I might need to travel back-to-back before/after Chicago.  :(  Oh!  Pray for me please, I really don’t want that!  At least 1 week in between would still be okay.  I just worry Isabel may have nipple confusion after the long separation.  And she may not recognize me too, like what happened with Ian when he was 5 months old (17 days separation).  Oh!  God!  Please don’t let this happen to me this time…

aiyoo…it’s always so difficult when we have to care for our young one and at the same time gotta travel…how nice if can lug them along eh :)

      jazzmint,
Ya lor, how I wish I can afford extra tickets and accommodation to bring my children along!  How good if I can go to meeting and they can do some sightsee.  Maybe when they are a lot older, independent and able to go around by themselves??

Poor you ..!! donch stress ya.. everything will work out fine.. ! Children are alot more resilient.. and smarter than we think they are.. and if the situation arises.. baby will go back to routine.. ;) no worries ok..! or else cannot produce milk.. :)

      MamaBok,
:)  Thanks.  Ya, won’t stress myself too much.  I am counting on God to get things straight for me (coz things are really beyond my control now).  Guess what?  I have good news this morning - BJ trip will be postponed, and I’ll have some time with kids in between!  :D

Do you have enough EBM stocked up now? I’ll be pumping like crazy if I have to work like you. BTW, I think nipple confusion is unavoidable, and if your maid can help to cup feed Isabel, that will help a lot.

      shoppingmum,
Yup, I’ve been pumping since 2nd or 3rd week, but not really like crazy.

Not too hard this time, coz I have a baby that sleeps through the night (extra milk for morning pump session), and 1 month extended leave.

I have been relying on the morning pump to gather 4-6 oz a day, sometimes slightly more 7-9 oz.  Now, I have 460oz in my freezer, that can last me the whole Chicago trip, but not Beijing.

That’s why I desperately need to bring them back from my US trip.  :(  BTW, also counting on Isabel being fed max 4 oz per feed - I just hope she doesn’t increase her appetite by the time I travel.

Good to hear that trip 2 has been postponed. Don’t count too much about being able to bring home your EBM as i heard that they have been very strict on the rules. No point worrying about things u can’t control. Afterall, God works in mysterious ways and things will turn out fine in the end. God Bless.
