The Da Vinci Code

Published by suzette under All, Book

I bought the book for quite some time, but unable to read it until Isabel was born and I was on confinement.  I secretly read the book when my mom wasn’t noticing coz she banned me from reading and watching tv.

What attracts me most about the book is actually the cryptography.

When I was still a kid, I love studying different ways of data encryption.  It was like a game to me.  But of course, my level was like a kindie’s level compared to those described in the novel.

One very simple encryption technique that I like to play with my friend was this one:

ITI SALLIN HO WYO ULOO KATIT

Can tell what I was trying to describe above?  :)

Scheduled Trips

Ok, good news, my Beijing trip is cancelled coz the training was brought forward to mid Aug, which I am still on my maternity leave and can’t make it.

Well, depends on how I look at it.  It could be bad news, coz I lost the opportunity to attend one important training this year… really a mixed feeling.  Whatever it is, I see this as God’s blessing.  He knows that I won’t be able to stock up so much breastmilk for the two trips, and he knows what is the best for me.

Originally I had confidence that I might be able to stock up enough ebm, but after I received my travel itinerary, my confidence flated.  The Chicago trip will take me 10 days from point to point!  Mostly travel and transit.

So, this cancellation of the BJ trip is really a blessing from God.  Whew!  This Chicago trip better be a good and enjoyable one.

Gangster Tour vs Navy Pier

Published by suzette under All, Traveling

In the upcoming team meeting in Chicago, we were given a choice of what we want to do on one of the evenings.

With the list of so many (or few items?!), I can’t decide which one to vote for - the gangster tour or the navy pier.

As usual, when it comes to personal choice, I am very undecisive…  Maybe I am just too greedy, want to do all!!  :P

Pee vs Fart

Published by suzette under All, Ian

We have been using ’shi-shi’ all these while with Ian, when we are referring to pee.

After sending him to school, as we want him to learn the correct words as well as the same term used in the school, we started to use ‘pee’.  This was what happened 2 nights ago…

Suz: Ian, come on, pee in the potty please.

Ian: I don’t want to 放屁 (fang-pee, i.e. fart) in the potty!  I don’t want to 放屁 (fang-pee)!

Isabel’s 2M Measurements

Published by suzette under All, Isabel

Took Isabel for her jab last Thursday.  Unlike her first month, she smiled and giggled at the doctor all the time.  Trying to charm the doc?!  :)

When doc took her measurements, first he started with her height…

Doc: (measuring) !!!! …. (measured again) !!!!  Wow!  She is very tall!  Normally, 3 months baby will be around 60cm long, but she is already 60.5cm!

Suz: (smilling happily)

Doc: (took other measures again and checked her diaper - she just poo’ed!) Oh, are you breastfeeding her?  The stool’s colour is the perfect one.  She is growing very well.  I think your breastfeeding effort paid off well.

I am very happy.  OK, her measurements: weight = 5.9kg, height = 60.5cm, head circumference = 40cm.  Read my previous post on 1M measurement, seems like she is consistently tall.  This time, she is even taller than Ian at the same age, but slightly lighter.
