Getting Ready for New Born

Baby is not ready to be born yet, coz she is only 32 weeks.  Born pre-maturely will lead to a lot of complications.

Not only she is not ready to be born, I am also not ready yet.  When doc teased me yesterday why I am not ready, he thought I was refering to my work only.

Well, work is one thing - my relief is only coming on 15 May, and my boss is going holiday from tomorrow till 24 Apr.  MIL also going for holiday during the same period.  Everyone wants to have holidays before my maternity!

So, definitely, the next 2-3 weeks is a no-no-no for me (as if I can choose).

Other than these, there are still quite a few number of things I haven’t bought:

  • Nursing bra (must visit Vivian tomorrow)
  • Feeding bottles (ask AL to get from SG)
  • EBM storage bottles (to get from Vivian)
  • Bolsters
  • Bouncy net - Ian used BIL’s, and now BIL took back for his new born, so…
  • Miscellaneous (baby soap, bottle brush, etc)
  • Gift to new born from Ian

Well, my friend taught me a trick to reduce the chance of jealousy between siblings.  She asked me to do 3 things:

  1. When Ian first visit me after giving birth, don’t let him see me holding the new born.  Give him the priority first, at least for the 1st impression.
  2. Arrange a gift from new born to Ian (already done)
  3. Arrange a gift from Ian to new born

Hope it works!

Other than the above, my maid is not arrived yet!  Oh, I need to also get a wardrobe cabinet for the maid too.  And I need to get a baby cot to be used at my mom’s place - I’ll be doing my confinement there.  Egghead is kind enough to lend me LLS’s cot, but I might be able to get back the old one that Ian borrowed from a relative.  TBC.

The other nitty gritty stuff is to dig out the old things like:

  • Baby’s towel
  • Blankets
  • Bedding set (bed sheets, bed bumper, etc)
  • Nipple shield
  • Breast pads
  • Handkerchiefs
  • Baby clothes
  • Mittens and socks
  • Baby sling
  • Changing mat
  • Avent food warmer (actually useless lah this one)
  • Nail clipper/scissors

Most importantly, my maid has to arrive first.  I really can’t do the digging stuff now, due to my sore torso.  :(

Yeap, by now you need maid to help you by now. I’m grateful when my maid come at week 31. I “butter” DH that we need to get the maid at least 2 months before I deliver because I need her to understand her task and get DD to accept to her.
